Main criteria
In the process of interlingual communication, translation is a bridge to communicate different languages. Generally speaking, there are two main criteria for translation: faithfulness and fluency.
loyal
It means to be faithful to the original information, that is, to express the original information completely and accurately, so that the information obtained by the target readers is roughly the same as that obtained by the original readers.
smooth
It means that the translation is standardized, clear and easy to understand, and there is no phenomenon of unreasonable arts and sciences, chaotic structure and unclear logic.
Practice produces theory, and translation theories in many countries in Europe and America are varied. Broadly speaking, it can be divided into two schools: one is translation possibility theory, and the other is translation impossibility theory. In fact, there is no possibility of complete 100%, and there is no possibility of complete 100%.
All translation activities in the world are carried out between these two extremes. Many famous figures in Europe, such as Martin Luther, M Arnold, F W Newman, J B Persia Teiga, H Black Rock, Fr. Knox v. Na Ba, etc. , have put forward their own translation theories. According to Kaiser's Encyclopedia of World Literature, some of these theories are capricious.
