How to insert the reference number in the paper
1. In the document, place the cursor next to the content to which you want to add a reference description (usually at the back). Then, switch to the References tab and click the Insert Footnote button in the Footnotes option group, as shown in figure 1.

2. At this point, the footnote number will appear next to the content that needs to be referenced (the system will automatically sort the number according to the number of footnotes added in the document, such as "1, 2,3 ……", etc. ). Because the first footnote is added in this example, the serial number is "1". At the same time, the same serial number will appear at the bottom of the page, and the cursor will be automatically positioned behind the serial number, so that users can add specific footnote information, as shown in Figure 2.

3. Enter the reference information after the corresponding footnote number at the bottom of the page, as shown in Figure 3.

4. After entering the footnote information, you can view the description at the corresponding position in the document body at any time. Just point the mouse at the footnote number in the text, as shown in Figure 4.

Adding footnotes is as simple and convenient as that. With it, no matter how many references are cited in Xiao Liu's paper, it can be easily done.
