What is Mercer's full name?
The full name of the competition is American Mathematical Modeling Competition (MCM/ICM, short for Mathematical Modeling Competition and Modeling Interdisciplinary Competition, which are two different types of competitions). Sponsored by the American Federation of Mathematics and Its Applications, it is an international mathematical modeling competition and the most influential mathematical modeling competition in the world.

The content of the competition involves many fields such as economy, management, environment, resources, ecology, medicine, safety, future science and technology.

The competition requires three students (undergraduates) as a group to complete all the work from modeling, solving, verifying and writing the paper within four days, which reflects the ability of the contestants to study problems and solutions and the spirit of teamwork.

MCM began in 1985, and ICM began in 2000. It was initiated by COMAP (Union of Mathematics and Its Applications) and sponsored by many organizations such as SIAM, NSA and INFORMS.
