Dong Zhongshu advocated Confucianism and enlightenment. His main ideas, such as "the connection between heaven and man" and "the unification of spring and autumn", especially the idea of "ousting a hundred schools of thought and respecting Confucianism alone", made Confucianism rise to the mainstream of feudal society and traditional culture during the period of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, which had a far-reaching impact on later generations! He proposed to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty that "one hundred schools of thought should be deposed and Confucianism should be the only one", and vigorously promoted Confucian education, making Confucianism the orthodox thought in ancient China. This unified the thinking of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, which was beneficial to maintaining national stability and political rule, but not conducive to academic development.
