Guizhou Police Vocational College is a full-time public security and judicial college approved by Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Government, filed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Security, and jointly managed by Guizhou Public Security and Education Department. It is an important base for cultivating and bringing up public security and judicial professionals in Guizhou Province.

The College evolved from the Public Security Cadre School of Guizhou Provincial People's Government and was founded in 1950. It has a history of more than half a century. In the meantime, in 1956, there were two cadre schools of politics, law and public security; 1958 Guizhou University of Political Science and Law was merged and closed during the Cultural Revolution. School Restoration 1973, named Guizhou Provincial School of Political Science and Law Cadre; 1975 was renamed as Guizhou Public Security Cadre School; 1980 was assigned to Guizhou Public Security Cadre School and Guizhou Political and Legal Cadre School; Guizhou Provincial People's Police School was formally established1982; 1985, the two schools were upgraded to Guizhou Political and Legal Management Cadre College and Guizhou Public Security Cadre College respectively; In May 2000, the two colleges merged again to form Guizhou Police Vocational College. At this point, the college has basically completed the evolution from small to large and from weak to strong, and entered a new historical period of leap-forward development.

The college offers general junior college education, adult junior college education, higher vocational education and secondary junior college education, as well as secondary junior college education and on-the-job cadre training. It also cooperates with Southwest University of Political Science and Law, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest Normal University and other undergraduate colleges to provide undergraduate education and master's degree education, forming a multi-level, multi-form and multi-channel school-running pattern.

Adhering to the Party's educational policy and the spirit of the Ministry of Education's instructions on strengthening quality education, improving the efficiency of running schools and teaching quality, the college pays attention to reform and development, establishes a strong political police, manages schools according to law, strictly polices and manages schools, vigorously advocates a good school spirit of "loyalty, strictness, practicality and diligence", and is committed to cultivating students with all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique, with firm political thoughts, firm beliefs and solid work style. Since its establishment, the College has sent nearly 30,000 graduates to public security, procuratorial, political and legal organs, judicial organs, legal service institutions, enterprises and institutions at all levels inside and outside the province. Most graduates have become the backbone of the public security and judicial departments, and many have taken the leadership positions in grass-roots public security bureaus, courts, procuratorates and judicial administrative systems, making contributions to the construction of socialist democracy and legal system. At present, there are more than 5,000 college students, vocational college students, adult college students, technical secondary school students and adult college students, and more than 600 graduate students and undergraduates. There are 476 teaching and administrative staff, including 305 full-time teachers.
