How to be an excellent math teacher
It is easy to be a math teacher, but it is not easy to be an excellent math teacher. After working 15 years, I try to be an excellent math teacher, but there is still a long way to go. To be an excellent math teacher, I think we should do at least three things well.

First, make students like you.

There is an old saying in China: "Love your teacher and believe in his way". Only teachers who are deeply liked by students can achieve better teaching results. I teach math in a class. From senior one to senior two, with the increase of knowledge difficulty and the relaxation of students' requirements for themselves, several students in the class (who have a good foundation in mathematics) have obviously regressed recently, as if they suddenly lost their motivation to learn. I talked to them alone several times, but nothing came of it, and I tried some "extreme measures" to no avail. Just when I was sad, by chance, I invited my classmates to play table tennis and enjoy playing together. Unexpectedly, the "miracle" appeared in class the next day: the students' eyes were shining, their faces were shining, and they often raised their left hands, vying to answer various questions raised by the teacher. This can't help but remind me of "stones from other mountains can attack jade" and "intentionally planting flowers, unintentionally planting willows in the shade", and the original thorny problem was solved in this way. Teachers, you might as well try: communicate with students more, take part in students' activities more, and care more about students' lives, then you can quickly become a teacher deeply liked by students, thus opening the door for students' learning and achieving twice the result with half the effort in education and teaching.

Second, let the curriculum reform help you.

"Poverty will change!" We should be soberly aware that our school is entering a dead end. Instead of doing nothing as in the past, it is better to completely change. The old method is not good, we must find another way. But where is the road? The road is right under our feet, and it is in the special study materials of student-oriented education compiled by our school. As long as we study this material deeply and take this classroom reform as an opportunity to let the seeds of this advanced concept of student-oriented education take root in our school, then our school, the seedling of "classroom teaching from inefficiency to efficiency", will surely grow into a towering tree.

As early as 1962, Ye Shengtao, an educator, put forward in his letter to the teacher: Teaching is like "helping children walk. Although you help them carefully, you will never forget to let them go." Recently, I often use a monolingual person to teach, in order to achieve the goal of not teaching. "Therefore, some people regard" learning to walk "as a classic educational metaphor." Learning to walk "means that no one can walk instead of you. You can only climb by yourself, then trip, and then learn to walk upright. Errors such as trying, groping and falling are the normal price of growth. If you don't pay the price of trying, groping and falling, you won't master the walking skills. In the teaching organization, student-oriented education also clearly points out that "learn first, take learning as teaching, learn more and teach less until teaching without teaching". It is with the help of this idea that I have changed the traditional teaching mode, which is mainly taught by teachers, and I don't care about telling students new knowledge about mathematics. Instead, we adopt the teaching mode of students' autonomous learning and group cooperation and inquiry, stimulate students' desire for knowledge by creating problem situations, and then guide them to discover the laws and draw conclusions themselves. For the examples in the textbook, I used to design them carefully and try to explain them thoroughly, which led to unsatisfactory teaching results. Now, student-based education is guided by the concept of "changing the education designed for teachers to learn well into the education designed for students to learn well". I gradually understand that some knowledge in teaching is not taught by teachers, but understood by students themselves. If teachers do it all by themselves, it will hinder the development of students' mathematical thinking. So I asked the students to try, grope and even "stumble" first, and then let them expose their thinking process, listen carefully to their speeches and try not to answer questions directly. The main task is to provide counterexamples, point out loopholes, support different voices, help students activate their thinking, and let them know the skills of "walking".

As we all know, a famous teaching experiment-"target teaching" experiment has appeared in China's education circle. Its teaching strategy is "timely feedback and timely correction"-"group teaching is supplemented by frequent feedback and personalized correction help that each student needs." The biggest danger of group teaching is to drown out students' mistakes. If you don't let students make mistakes, they won't grow up. If students are not reminded to correct their mistakes in time, they will grow up in the wrong direction. What shall we do? I learned something from the unusual practice of "one exercise book" that excellent teachers usually adopt. Students don't use two exercise books alternately, but use one after use. This can prompt me to correct my homework in time and give me a general understanding of the students' mastery of knowledge that day. If individual students have problems, I will help them study and study through face-to-face tutoring. If most students can't master it well, then solve the previous problems first in the next class. So I can often be seen correcting students' homework at night, even if I am not arranged to make up lessons after work. This is also a magic weapon for me to achieve certain results in rural junior high school mathematics teaching.

Third, let reading accompany you.

The factor of a person's success is not only reading, but also reading is an important factor of a person's success. Throughout the ages, countless sages, writers and educators have successfully made reading a habit. "Making reading a habit" is the requirement of the times for teachers to implement quality education in an all-round way, which is directly related to the process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the "sunshine" future of the Chinese nation. A teacher is willing to read, good at reading, good at thinking, thinking about educational phenomena, and seeing the essence of education from the appearance of education, so as to get out of the ranks of teachers and become an excellent teacher. I have been teaching 15 years, and I am still an ordinary teacher. A very important factor is that I read less and am not good at reading. Therefore, from now on, I will study hard, resolutely not gamble, not play games, not stock trading, and stay away from vulgar tastes, so that "play less, learn more and surpass myself" will become my motto.
