Based on the mission and responsibility of educators, we have made some thoughts and explorations on the practical and historical significance of inheriting excellent traditional culture under the new situation and how to carry out traditional culture education on campus.

What is the activity of reading classics in middle school? Improve the cultural quality of middle school students, improve the cultural quality of middle school teachers and improve the cultural taste and style of middle schools? An effective method. Based on the problems existing in classic reading in middle schools at present, the author thinks that this activity should proceed from rationality, clarify the content and design of reading, pay attention to the feasibility of educational theories and methods, increase the intensity of practice and research, and properly use the assessment mechanism, so that traditional cultural education and modern education can penetrate and blend with each other. Based on the mission and responsibility of teachers, I have done some thinking and exploration to discuss with you.
First, read classics, carry out responsibilities and cultivate a new generation.
Our school began to carry out classic reading activities in 2005. In view of the characteristics of contemporary middle school students, such as simple but active thinking, strong personality but wide interests, fragile psychology but strong desire, rich modern knowledge but lack of traditional culture, quick acceptance of new things but poor ability to resist external temptations, lofty ideals but widespread bad behavior habits, we regard classic reading as an important content of moral education. We mainly made the following considerations and attempts.
(A) from the beginning of entrance education, carefully read the classics and experience the charm of the classics.
For a long time, we have always adhered to the principle of putting morality first and educating people, and attached great importance to the entrance education of freshmen in senior high school. In view of the characteristics of students' young age, pure mind, strong memory and strong sense of freshness in the new school, teachers were organized to compile Disciple Rules and Thousand-character Works (with pinyin and explanations) before entering the school, which were distributed to students as holiday homework before entering the school, requiring students to recite relevant paragraphs according to regulations, and most of them met the requirements after entering the school. In order to consolidate the achievements of recitation, we require students to recite before class (after the bell rings), and read self-study in the morning once a week, taking back-to-back and back-to-back forms, relaying back and reciting in groups, so as to keep students interested. Of course, reciting classics may not necessarily understand the true meaning of classics. At the beginning of school, the school specially arranged time for the class teacher to preach Disciple Rules, held a class meeting with the theme of classic reading, held a classic reading learning garden, and held a hard-pen calligraphy competition with classic reading as its content. Entrance education focuses on creating an atmosphere by reciting. With the foundation of reciting, the effect of classroom teaching in the future is guaranteed, and the cultural atmosphere of reading classics and reciting classics in schools is also improved.
(2) Grasp the interpretation from the classroom, carefully taste the classics and feel the true meaning of the classics.
On the basis of preview, let classic reading enter the classroom and be included in the teaching plan. We set up a classic reading class in the first and second grades, and a special person is responsible for compiling teaching materials and teaching. Teaching aims at improving students' moral standards, cultivating a strong sense of responsibility, forming good behavior habits, cultivating strong national feelings and improving rich humanistic qualities, and explaining the recited articles sentence by sentence, which we follow in teaching? Four bogeys and four essentials? The principle is to avoid empty preaching, be easy to understand, be boring, have interesting images, copy dogma, critically absorb, indoctrinate and learn from each other's strengths. Try to be simple, popular, vivid and interesting. At the same time, six combinations have been achieved in classroom teaching and analysis: classic teaching and reading combined with patriotic education, combined with spiritual civilization and moral construction, and learning? Eight honors and eight disgraces? Combine, combine all kinds of good and bad phenomena in society, combine middle school students' behavior norms and middle school students' behavior norms, and combine personal daily behavior habits. Starting with people and things around us, we list historical allusions, idiom stories, celebrity stories, folklore and a large number of typical cases in real life to prove the classic theory, so that students can feel that the classics of ancient philosophers are not far away from us, but around us, at all levels and corners of society. We ask students to write their experiences regularly, communicate with each other, and then give them to teachers for review and write comments. In order to make students pay full attention to classical recitation, we take it as part of the political course exam, accounting for 10% of the total score of the political course. We are delighted to see from students' weekly notebooks and compositions that classic quotations have entered their memories, and the classic truth lies in nourishing their tender hearts. Some students not only quote classics flexibly in their compositions, but also make use of them. Through these feedback information, we really feel that the educational effect of carrying out classic reading activities is good, and we are delighted to see great changes in campus environmental sanitation, classroom discipline, daily language, behavior and behavior.
(3) From the beginning of the activity, be romantic and classic, and feel the classic charm.
Classics become classics because of their rich connotation, brilliant wisdom, profound philosophy and charm of language art, and the psychological and age characteristics of middle school students determine that they don't like single educational methods and means. What they love is richness, novelty and liveliness. In order to let students feel the charm of classics from many aspects and angles, and deeply understand the profoundness of classics, while reciting and interpreting classics, we should take patriotic education as the main theme, vigorously carry out various activities of reading classics, reflect the light of classics, admire the sage style, and cultivate a generation of students. In recent years, the party and government working group and teaching and research section of our school have cooperated with each other, and teachers have actively participated. Should those who achieve great things be detained? Student debate? Filial piety and love? Touching the campus speech contest? Loyalty, filial piety, love, concern and self-confidence? Five-heart English handwritten newspaper competition? Remember eight honors and eight disgraces and strive to be a civilized teenager? Legal report? Cultivate good discipline habits and be a reasonable and good citizen? All kinds of activities, such as short plays and sketch competitions, are written, directed and performed by students, who choose their own design materials. It is very necessary for us to recite the classics in the early stage as a means, rely on various activities, take classroom interpretation as the main channel, create an atmosphere as the background, and aim at cultivating education. Its subtle effect is like spring breeze and rain, which plays an important role in students' physical and mental growth, ideological maturity, improvement of humanistic quality and perfection of personality and character.
Thirdly, the enlightenment of developing classic reading.
Revelation 1: Classic reading is the basic project to cultivate good quality. A person's good quality is not formed overnight, but a long-term process. The essence of traditional culture plays an important role in a person's growth. We should start with traditional culture education, so that children can develop good behavior habits and excellent personality quality.
Revelation 2: Classic reading is a necessary way to improve school education. School education is the main channel to inherit and carry forward national traditional culture. However, the serious lack of traditional culture in the current textbooks and the singleness of educational methods have led to the imperfection of education and hindered the full play of educational functions. Only by organically integrating excellent traditional culture into modern education can we effectively play the educational function and maximize the educational benefits.
Revelation 3: Classic reading is an effective carrier to cultivate patriotic feelings. Patriotism education is the main theme of moral education advocated by our party. Undoubtedly, it is an important content to cultivate patriotism and enhance national cohesion and pride. At the same time, making the essence of traditional culture deeply rooted in people's hearts will inevitably improve people's humanistic quality and moral cultivation, and then promote the harmonious development of society.
Schools shoulder the heavy responsibility of cultivating talents for the country. It should educate students to master modern scientific knowledge and inherit national traditional culture, with both modern civilization consciousness and national traditional virtues, maintain a unique national character, and have a world mind and a global vision. This is the educational mission entrusted by the times.
