Abstract: In recent years, the scale of colleges and universities in China has expanded rapidly, and large-scale education is easy to manufacture standardized products. The technical talents of the same major are like batch products copied from the same production line, with the same knowledge structure and professional skills, lacking individuality and innovation. This phenomenon seriously restricts the seamless connection between talent training in colleges and universities and talent demand in enterprises. Based on this, aiming at the single and large-scale education mode of information management major in business colleges, this paper deeply discusses many problems existing in the reform of personalized talent training mode, and gives corresponding solutions, aiming at providing reference for colleges and universities to build diversified, personalized and flexible talent training mode and teaching methods.
I. Professional overview
Information management and information system, referred to as information management specialty, involves informatics, computer science and management science. It is an interdisciplinary subject, management science and engineering under the category of management science, and a mixed discipline developed from the original management information system specialty, economic information management specialty and scientific and technological information management specialty. At the end of 1990s, information management and information system majors were set up in universities. At present, there are about 500 undergraduate colleges and universities in China offering such related majors. Its main purpose is to provide high-quality information services for scientific research and management decision-making. There are three main research directions in this major. The first is information retrieval, collection, representation, storage, processing and analysis, as well as the study of its bearing medium and structural characteristics. The second is the application research of information technology in information management and the design and development of management information system; The third is the operation and maintenance of management information system, the management and maintenance of data platform and project management. The training goal of this major is to master modern economic management theory and modern information science and technology, have the ability of analysis, planning, design, development, management and evaluation of various information systems, as well as the ability of construction, operation and management of e-commerce websites, and be able to engage in modern information management, MIS construction and maintenance, business activity information analysis and research in information management departments of enterprises, institutions and government agencies, with solid professional knowledge, strong operational skills and certain innovative spirit.
Second, the domestic and foreign information management professional training mode summary
1. Current situation of foreign talent training mode
Management information system (MIS) can be traced back to 1968 at the earliest abroad. First, under the sponsorship of some American universities, the teachers' research group jointly established with management majors, economic majors and computer majors set up MIS courses, and then set up information system majors for students. Driven by the demand for information management talents, MIS came to a mature and all-round development era in the early 1980s. First-class universities in the United States have set up MIS programs, such as Si Long University of Technology (Si Long), Harvard University, UMN University and new york University (Stern). From the perspective of specialty setting, the specialties of information management and information system in American and British universities are carefully divided, with clear professional objectives, which highlight the advantages and professional characteristics of universities and provide students with diversified choices. On the other hand, foreign universities have established multi-level information management education, such as postgraduate, undergraduate and vocational education. Students can not only choose majors according to their own interests and future employment plans, but also choose courses freely, so that students can better play their individuality and innovation in passionate study and practice. Compared with domestic universities, foreign talent training models pay more attention to individuality. For example, Harvard University, which takes "self-realization and serving the society" as its motto, puts students' personality development in the first place.
2. The current situation of talent training mode in China.
Compared with foreign countries, domestic information management majors still implement a single category of education, and the education model is the same. Although the credit system has been implemented in most universities in China, the individualized training of information management is far from the expected plan. The main reason is that there is no guarantee of time, space and teachers, so most colleges and universities actually follow a unified model, complete the established credits within the specified time, or have not completely got rid of the traditional talent training mode of batch reproduction production. This system also greatly improves the difficulty of cultivating personalized and innovative talents. (1) Pay more attention to majors than humanities. The proportion of specialized courses is too large, and the proportion of humanistic quality courses is too small, which obviously attaches importance to professional education and ignores humanistic quality education.
(2) Pay more attention to theory than practice. The proportion of pure theory courses is too large, and the proportion of practical courses is too small. Practical courses are rarely used in enterprises and institutions, with short course cycle and insufficient class hours; In addition, students' practical ability is weak, and their ability to analyze and solve problems is not strong, which leads to poor effect of practical courses.
(3) Pay more attention to management than technology application. Although information management major is an interdisciplinary subject, which integrates management science, system science and computer technology, it has advantages that a single subject does not have, but it may also form the possibility of "patchwork". General information management majors are classified into the School of Economics and Management, so economic management courses account for a large proportion of the total courses. On the contrary, it weakens the important supporting technology of information management specialty-information technology course, which makes students basically take the core courses of management and economics, and finally loses the professional direction of information management.
(4) Pay more attention to compulsory courses than elective courses. There are still many limitations in the talent training scheme and curriculum setting of colleges and universities in China, such as the proportion of compulsory courses in the total compulsory courses is too large, and there are too many class hours. At the same time, compared with foreign universities, the proportion of elective courses is much lower than that of similar foreign universities, and there are fewer courses, which limits the space for students to choose courses. This leads to the lack of learning freedom in the curriculum design of information management specialty in colleges and universities. This problem directly affects students' personalized development, which is not conducive to expanding students' professional skills, professionalism and innovative spirit.
The above problems not only affect the teaching quality and effect, but also seriously affect students' interest in learning and restrict students' personality development. The root causes of these problems are as follows:
First, the educational concept is not in harmony with social and economic development. The concept of education can't adapt to the development of society and economy. For many years, the talent training of business schools in China has been carried out under the planned economy model. The training of talents in colleges and universities is relatively in line with the needs of society, and graduates can find corresponding jobs. However, with the development of social economy, this relative consistency is gradually broken, and the demand for talents changes according to the changes of the market, rather than being dominated by the government. Therefore, with the diversification of talent demand, talent flow has increased year by year, and talent competition has intensified.
Second, the reward mechanism has not been implemented. Incentive mechanism can't arouse the enthusiasm of teaching reform. Teachers are the main force in the cultivation of personalized talents, which need to be actively explored, implemented and constantly summarized. Therefore, in order to ensure the implementation of the reward mechanism, colleges and universities should invest a lot of money to formulate rewards for teachers and teaching administrators. "
Third, the curriculum system lags behind. The development of information management specialty is closely related to information technology and has distinct characteristics of the times. However, at present, the lag of the professional curriculum system is gradually emerging, which seriously affects the cultivation of professional students' knowledge, skills and practical ability.
Fourth, the teaching practice equipment is backward. In recent years, with the support of World Trade Bank loan project and "2ll project", the teaching environment and teaching equipment of various schools have been improved. However, there are not many open experimental projects that meet the needs of personalized training, and the opening rate of open experimental projects is also low. There are still many schools with imperfect teaching facilities. Even if it is used continuously from morning till night, it can only maintain the courses set in the current talent training plan, which is difficult to meet the demand of' multi-class small class discussion teaching' required by personalized training.
Third, the countermeasures of personalized talent training mode
1. Strengthen practical ability
Strengthening students' practical ability and cultivating applied talents. With the development of market economy, the demand for talents in social posts has gradually changed from ordinary talents to professional, applied and innovative talents. This requires that the educational model should be changed accordingly, and efforts should be made to cultivate applied talents. First of all, we can reform the teaching mode, increase the proportion of professional practice courses, and strive for more internship opportunities for students who are about to graduate from junior and senior years. Secondly, to change the traditional theory-based teaching method, the usual theory class should also be combined with practice, not only to explain the theory, but also to talk about its application in practice, so as to provide better guidance for students' future employment. At the same time, teachers are required to have corresponding rich practical experience. Schools can organize teachers to visit some enterprises and institutions for training, or communicate with senior executives of information management majors in society on a regular basis, or consult some employment experts to clarify the career development direction of information management majors. Finally, with the rapid development of information technology, only those with self-learning ability will not be eliminated by society. Therefore, colleges and universities should pay attention to cultivating the self-study ability of students majoring in information management. Teachers should pay more attention to inspiration and interaction in teaching, so that students can learn knowledge and cultivate innovative ability through inquiry, which is also the only way to cultivate personalized talents.
2. Improve the level of professional skills
Improve students' technical level and cultivate technical management talents. Personalized talents must be highly specialized, accurately positioned and fully developed. Therefore, for the cultivation of information management professionals, colleges and universities should pay more attention to strengthening the teaching of information technology courses, cultivating students' practical skills on computers, and allowing students to independently design and develop information management websites and complete the design and maintenance of databases. Exercise hands-on ability, improve the ability to think independently, analyze and solve problems, improve professional skills according to the needs of social posts, and strengthen the seamless connection between professional education and the needs of society and enterprises At the same time, it is necessary to appropriately reduce the proportion of economic management courses in the total credits. In teaching, we must not be divorced from the theoretical and practical teaching of information technology courses, let alone focus on the theoretical teaching of economic management courses, so as to cultivate students into pure management talents.
3. Reform teaching methods and modes
Implementing "open" teaching method and "flexible" teaching mode to cultivate innovative talents. The cultivation of individualized talents is inseparable from open teaching methods. The so-called open teaching method mainly refers to breaking the traditional "one book" and advocating broadening the scope of professional knowledge, so that students can understand the knowledge of related professional fields other than textbooks and the research trends in this professional field, such as the latest research hotspots, new technologies, new methods and new means and the latest research results; In addition, it is necessary to break the "centralized", give students appropriate freedom, allow them to think independently, and express their unique views and personalized opinions on professional knowledge and skill training; In the teaching process, we should abandon the traditional spoon-feeding teaching method and advocate guided teaching, leaving room and space for students to learn independently. It is necessary to change the "teacher-centered" teaching mode into a new teaching mode of "student-centered, teacher-led", constantly stimulate students' innovative consciousness, and enable students to construct professional knowledge structure in a relatively independent learning environment and give full play to their individuality.
4. Improve teaching equipment
Teaching equipment is essential for information management major with computer technology as its core. Cultivating innovative talents with strong professional skills and strong personality requires not only superior teaching environment, but also long-term practical ability training, which urges students to transform theoretical study into practical work skills and innovate and improve in practice. At the same time, colleges and universities can increase capital investment, improve modern teaching equipment, and strive to cultivate applied and innovative talents. And try to keep the teaching equipment in sync with the modernization of science and technology, so as to improve the conditions of running colleges and universities and improve students' satisfaction with teaching facilities.
Four. Concluding remarks
With the development of social economy and the arrival of the information age, enterprises should constantly strengthen the innovation of management technology, management methods and management means. Therefore, colleges and universities need to cultivate personalized, innovative and skilled information management professionals, create high-quality professional human resources for enterprises, give play to their core competitive advantages, adapt to the current market demand, and promote the development of the whole industry.
