My graduation thesis research also studies this aspect, drawing on the views of various scholars, which are summarized as follows: First, since the reform and opening up, China's economy has developed rapidly, and a large number of laborers have flocked to big cities, and most of the left-behind parents have become empty nesters. Second, the implementation of the one-child policy has aggravated the aging of the population, and the problem of providing for the aged has become increasingly prominent. With the only child going out to study, work and get married, many rural families are heading for empty nests. Third, people's values have changed. With the continuous improvement of spiritual living standards, the concept of family support for the aged has gradually faded, and people of all ages have begun to pursue independent activity space and freedom. Fourth, the progress of modern medical technology and the improvement of people's living standards, as well as the aging population. Fifth, reform and opening up have brought about economic development and changes in traditional values. Modern young people's sense of responsibility for their families has gradually faded, and they no longer attach so much importance to filial piety. Sixth, the elderly have enhanced their sense of independence and volunteered to empty their nests.
I hope the above answers are helpful to you, and I hope to adopt them!
