How to use one thing for multiple purposes?
Among the numerous factual arguments, except for some fables, most of the materials are multi-directional. When describing materials, we should focus on the needs of arguments, consciously highlight the consistency between facts and arguments, and express them in more revealing words to make the unity of materials and viewpoints clear.
Taking Sun Bin's story as an example, if the argument belongs to "the harm of jealousy", the narrative focus should be on Pang Juan's jealousy of Sun Bin: if you can't treat others' strengths correctly, it will be difficult to achieve much. During the Warring States Period, Pang Juangui was the Grand Marshal of Wei State, who made many outstanding achievements. But because I was jealous of Sun Bin's talent, I set up a plot to punish him. After Sun Bin became the strategist of Qi State, the invincible Pang Juan ended up defeated and killed. If the argument belongs to "flexible function", then the key point of the argument should be that Sun Bin broke away from convention: after Sun Bin returned to Qi, he first lived in seclusion under Tian Ji, the general of Qi. In a horse race, he used the tactic of "using surplus to lose money" to help Tian Ji beat Wang Wei, which won the appreciation and reuse of Qi Weiwang. Tian Ji horse racing, everyone will praise Sun Bin for his cleverness. Sun Bin's cleverness is inseparable from his flexible thinking. When solving problems, people's thinking is more conventional. Why not think from another side? In this way, thinking diverges. According to the different needs of arguments, the factual arguments are described from different angles, and different argumentative languages are used to achieve the perfect combination of materials and arguments, thus revealing completely different ideological meanings.
"From the side of the mountain, the height is different", and each material will have different meanings from different angles.
For example, there is such a material: Pu Songling, a novelist in the Qing Dynasty, has tried and tested every time. Later, he set a table and stool at home, served tea and asked passers-by to tell him various legends and stories for more than 20 years. It was on the basis of collecting these materials that he wrote the famous collection of short stories in classical Chinese, Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio.
We can use these materials to support different arguments. Pu Songling's "tried and tested" can be used to prove his point of view that "nobody is on the list, and there is a way at his feet", and that "success belongs to the self-improvement person". Pu Songling's attitude in reading-"set the table and stool, serve tea, and ask passers-by to tell him all kinds of legends and stories" can be used to prove that he is "not ashamed to ask questions", "be sincere in learning and respectful in doing things" and "a writer should go deep into life. Pu Songling's Uninterrupted Twenty Years can be used to prove the viewpoints of "persistence is the most important" and "perseverance can carve a stone". You can also use Pu Songling's success theory-"writing a famous classical Chinese short story Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio" to prove the viewpoints of "where there is a will, there is a way" and the whole material can also be used to prove the viewpoint of "adversity makes talents".
The diversity of material meanings provides us with a broad and flexible choice space. Because of this, we should be careful when using materials and find the right starting point. Otherwise, the material will be inconsistent with the argument, or even deviate, and the views and materials will be far from each other.
People who are good at using materials can use many materials. In order to fully explore the meaning of materials, students can discuss collectively, brainstorm and exchange ideas and materials, which will certainly get twice the result with half the effort.
