The theme of this work is the legal protection of online privacy. Starting from the traditional sense of privacy, this paper introduces the concept and content of privacy. Based on the particularity of network environment, this paper re-discusses the concept and content of network privacy, and compares network privacy with traditional privacy. The article also introduces the foreign privacy protection mode and analyzes the necessity of protecting the network privacy in China. In addition, this paper also introduces the manifestations and reasons of the current infringement of the right to privacy on the internet, and then analyzes the existing legal resources for the protection of the right to privacy on the internet in China with examples, focusing on the shortcomings in many aspects of the protection of the right to privacy on the internet in China. Finally, it expounds some opinions on improving the protection of the right to privacy on the internet from the perspectives of legislation, self-discipline and self-protection.
