Chinese wrestling has different project names and techniques. In order to distinguish it from international wrestling, China's traditional wrestling was named Chinese wrestling. The mass base is weak and unevenly distributed. According to the survey, there are less than 20,000 people practicing Chinese wrestling in China. In recent ten years, the practice crowd mainly comes from professional athletes in wrestling clubs and students from competitive sports schools and colleges, and social groups rarely participate in the practice and competition of Chinese wrestling. Its employed population is unevenly distributed, mainly from Hebei, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and other northern regions, and the number of employees in the southern region is small. At the same time, although there are many series of national competitions in China, such as championships, tournaments and club championships, on the whole, Chinese wrestling has not formed a complete training system, on the one hand, because the number of participants is small, and on the other hand, because the management department of Chinese wrestling has not been established for a short time and has not formed scientific guidance for the whole training system.

The construction of management institutions and related associations lags behind. Since Chinese wrestling withdrew from the official competition of the National Games, as a non-Olympic and non-National Games event, it has been paid less and less attention and gradually faded out of people's field of vision. The Chinese Wrestling Association was formally established by the State Sports General Administration, and is responsible for the management of referee, competition, coaching and promotion.

Although the relevant management institutions and associations have made outstanding contributions to the promotion and popularization of Chinese wrestling, the late establishment of relevant institutions and associations has caused a long blank period in the development of Chinese wrestling, which has made the promotion and development of Chinese wrestling relatively backward. At present, apart from the country, only a few provinces and cities such as Henan, Inner Mongolia, Hefei, Jilin and Kaifeng have established Chinese wrestling associations, which leads to the scarcity of local associations. In the development of Chinese wrestling, it is difficult to form products and related derivatives with independent intellectual property rights, and ultimately it is difficult to achieve self-sufficiency and promote the benign development of Chinese wrestling.
