How to write theoretical articles
Opening remarks:

Scientific theory is the guide for the healthy development of social practice of education for the aged. Teaching and scientific research are the two wings of the university for the aged. Only by flying high can universities for the aged flourish and education for the aged develop. In order to do a good job in the theoretical research of old-age education, let's discuss how to write a good theoretical article, hoping that teachers and students will participate and contribute to the theoretical innovation of old-age education.

1. Topic selection: Topic selection is the key to writing a good theoretical article. Many experts, scholars and journalists say that "a good topic is equal to half an article". For example, the topic "Practice is the only criterion for testing truth" condenses the content of the full text and is the essence of the full text. After reading this topic, I have mastered the main spirit of the full text. The so-called good topic is to grasp the problem accurately. Whether we can correctly grasp the problem is whether we can establish the essence of the problem. This is a major sign to measure the writing level. Grasping problems and establishing topics generally start from two aspects: first, start from notebooks and find topics from notebooks. For example, without revolutionary theory, there is no revolutionary practice, and without investigation, there is no right to speak. Reform is China's second revolution. The second is to find a topic from real life. This is the basic requirement of theoretical research and thesis writing. This is what we often say: studying new situations and solving new problems. The "two centers and three emphases" put forward in the report of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is the fundamental guideline of our scientific research. In other words, scientific research must focus on the practical problems of socialist reform, opening up and modernization in contemporary China, what we are doing, the application of Marxist theory, the improvement of theoretical thinking on practical problems, and the new practice and development. To write theoretical articles, we should seek, summarize and practice theoretical topics from real life. For example, building a harmonious society and developing old-age education, old-age education in a learning society, implementing the all-round development of old-age education in Scientific Outlook on Development, thinking about learning and doing something for veteran cadres, studying and implementing the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and developing old-age education. The so-called good topic has another meaning, that is, the text should be well expressed, accurate, refined and eye-catching.

The principle of topic selection is six sentences: no one has me; People are strange to me; People are new, I am everything; Everyone is me; I reply when people are single; People are outside me.

2. Information: Information is the basis of writing. Without substantial information in hand, writing is without rice. Whether the same topic is well written or not depends on who has more information, new information and good use. This requires us to strengthen our study, study Marxist classics, study the Party's line, principles and policies, study Socialism with Chinese characteristics's theoretical system, study the development history, policies and regulations of China's elderly education, and learn the advanced experience of elderly education at home and abroad. Learning is persistence, learning is accumulation and learning is application. It is very important for writing to collect important materials and file them on the computer during the learning process.

3. Writing procedure: the first step is to determine the topic; The second step is to collect a large number of reference materials around the identified topics; The third step is to draft the first draft with reference to relevant information; The fourth step is to revise it repeatedly, absorb, enrich and perfect it. A good article is revised repeatedly, and the process of revision is the process of sublimation, the process of innovation and the process of producing excellent products. The fifth step is to solicit opinions, that is, to consult colleagues and relevant experts and scholars. The sixth step is to revise and finalize it again according to the opinions of experts and scholars.

4. Grasp the information and understand the trends: comprehensively and accurately grasp the latest information, trends and trends in the theoretical research of elderly education through newspapers, attending academic seminars, visiting and studying, and visiting experts and scholars. The focus of recent theoretical research on education for the aged is (1) to define "education for the aged"; (2) "The development of the education for the aged in China" (the theme of the 8th theoretical seminar of China Association of Universities for the Aged); (3) "Develop distance education and continuing education, and build a learning society with lifelong learning for all" (report of the 17th National Congress).

The above discussion is purely personal and is for readers' reference only. I hope everyone will make joint efforts to put forward some valuable, insightful and thoughtful new ideas, theories and concepts in macro and micro aspects such as applied research, theoretical research and legal research of the aged education, so as to contribute to the development of the aged education in our city.
