On Shang Yang's Reform
Shang Yang's political reform focused on success. His two political reforms abolished the foundation of slave society and established a series of feudal social political and economic systems. In his policies, he emphasized agriculture, suppressed commerce, and rewarded agriculture and textiles. Unify Qin weights and measures, abolish the enfeoffment system, manage counties, open up frontiers for the people, abolish the privileges of slave owners and nobles, deal a heavy blow to slave owners and nobles, promote the development of Latin feudal economy, strengthen the centralization of the emerging landlord class, and conform to the historical development trend of Latin. Many policies have been adopted by later generations.
