What is homochirality?

Homochirality refers to a group of molecules with the same chirality. The molecules involved are not necessarily the same compounds, but similar groups are arranged around a central atom in the same way.

My understanding is that the definition of pure chirality should lie in macroscopic molecular groups. A group of molecules with the same chiral configuration (such as R or S configuration and D or L configuration) are said to have pure chirality, but in fact they are not necessarily compounds with the same composition.
