What's the experience of studying in Tokyo University?
After studying at Dongda University for five years in a row, the word "respect" impressed me the most.

Students respect professors, professors respect students, and staff are friendly and helpful.

Here, administration is more than academics, and professors take turns to be experts (that is, the head of the department of China), so there is no bureaucratic atmosphere.

Two things impressed me the most. On one occasion, Naito's retirement speech was just interrupted by the 20 1 1 Great East Japan Earthquake. At that time, more than 200 people in the classroom did not panic when a strong earthquake occurred, and all of them were evacuated in an orderly manner under the big ginkgo tree in the central open space of the engineering department. Everyone formed a circle under the ginkgo tree, and the students in the front row consciously squatted down. Although there were aftershocks, there was no noise at all, just to give the professor a final platform and continue to make a short resignation speech. The tradition of respecting teachers and valuing morality is especially valuable at an extraordinary moment.

Another time, I applied to go to the library to buy a batch of books. Later, the staff wrote to inform me that one book had arrived and could be taken directly from the newly arrived bookshelf. Among dozens of newly arrived books on a shelf, I suddenly found that the one I wanted was different from others, with a long brand. I took it out and looked at it. The sign said, "Students need books urgently." At that time, I really felt that "you are not fighting alone", and some people were thinking about your research.

The staff of Dongda University will try their best to provide convenience for students' research and study, and their attitude is very positive and cordial. When I was not enrolled in school, I was hit by the Wenchuan earthquake. The staff of Dongda entrance course immediately wrote to greet me and said that they could discuss with them if there were any difficulties. This "student-oriented" warmth has accompanied me for five years. Thank you very much.

Compared with China, I personally feel that during my four-year undergraduate life in Beijing, it is really difficult to feel that I am "respected" at school. Especially when handling all kinds of complicated procedures, we often encounter the bad attitude of administrative personnel. Of course, maybe he was an undergraduate, and the situation was different from that of a graduate student. I am still grateful that my alma mater has taught me a lot. This paragraph needs to be deleted. )

As for the impression of the professor, there are many aspects in life that cannot be summarized. Of course, it goes without saying that everyone is a big cow. My own teacher is a member of the Central Disaster Prevention Conference. The teachers in the research room next door have held important positions in many UN agencies, and the scholars who were taken out to eat by the teachers are also scholars who formulated this law and that law. The requirements for students are also different. If there are shepherds, there will naturally be pushers. In addition to instructing students, professors are also very busy with foreign affairs. Generally, there are a constant stream of tourists from morning till night on weekdays, and sometimes there are seven or eight groups of guests a day. Every time I go to help pour coffee, I have the illusion that the position of a university professor is similar to that of a flower head.

My own teacher cares about all kinds of vulnerable groups in addition to his profession. I once saw a thank-you letter from the president of NPO Single Parent Family Support Association at the conference table, describing the teacher as a "transparent fairy" ... The Japanese can't stop literature and art ... This person is quite legendary, suffering from domestic violence in his childhood, and his mother left home and never showed up again. DV's father died in his high school, leaving a legacy of billions, so he wandered around the Ginza Senior Club all the year round. One day, after satisfying our teacher's suggestion, he suddenly began to think about life and death, went to a university and built an NPO…… ... Until now, he is very grateful to the teacher.

I always feel that in addition to academic authority, professors at Dongda University are actually taking the initiative to assume social responsibilities and expand their positive social influence. They should know best that universities are not just ivory towers, but a society without thresholds. Just like our campus, we can always see housewives walking and old people drawing in the afternoon. Universities are so big that they should be tolerant.

There are many research institutes in Dongda Engineering University, and they also attach great importance to the combination with practical application. Every month, my institute has a lecture for ordinary citizens, who can attend and participate freely. Our research room will also participate in many social activities related to disaster prevention and mitigation, so we are familiar with the reporters of NHK Social Department. The picture shows the development process of a simulation software that NHK came to the research room. It was me who sat in front of the computer and demonstrated the software operation, followed by an associate professor in the research room. Our relationship with other media is also very friendly. After all, if the research can't be publicized and applied, it will be very sad to be humiliated in the university. )

(Often asked by primary schools to help children talk about their careers. Japan began to talk about occupation from the sixth grade of primary school, mainly to introduce our professional characteristics and possible future work direction to children. Every time a child expresses his desire to be a researcher like us, he feels very happy. )

But in my opinion, the most interesting thing about this group of teachers is that most of them took part in the study/health/transportation/sports in the 1960s, and they all threw themselves at the police/inspectors/students. About their bloody history, what do I think of the student movement in Japan in the 1960s? I mentioned it. Anyway, since I learned about this history, every time I meet the professor, I feel that we are all the same. The so-called "I will be you when I grow up."

In fact, whether you are a professor or a student, the probability of meeting interesting people on the campus of Dongda University is always quite high.

Speaking of it, when I was in Dongda University, I was inspired by a bloody Japanese drama called Long Ying. Summer of 2005. Sakuraki Kenni, a third-rate lawyer, said that "idiots and ugly girls should go to Dongda University", but the characters in the play are obviously beautiful women like Masami Nagasawa and Aragaki Yui. So I came to Dongda University.

Well, there are indeed many "ugly girls" who are slovenly, and there are also many "idiots" with boiling blood. Some students dropped out of school for a year or two to ride bicycles across Eurasia, and some evaded the thesis defense to contribute to the publishing house because the comic book deadline was up. Brother shemale next door loves to wear women's clothes every time he sleeps together. After a car accident and a broken bone, he soon fell in love with a nurse and got married. At the wedding, he also asked all the younger generation in the research room to wear ladybug clothes and little wings to dance ladybug. It's all a bunch of beautiful things. The son of the emperor's physician is in our laboratory downstairs. He doesn't follow in his father's footsteps and is keen on architecture. He went to interview Herzog and De Mellon (the one who designed the Bird's Nest) and was rejected because of his poor spoken English. So he tried his best to hire a personal trainer to practice his oral English to the level of his mother tongue in a month, and the interview was successful. There are too many inspirational stories. I often feel as if I have been illuminated with these people who shine because of their dreams.

However, doing research is really inspiring. The picture below shows the PPT of the teaching assistant in our research room. Since he gained weight, every time he learned to publish, he never forgot to put his previous photos on the PPT self-introduction page. I still remember that when I met him in early 2007, he was a first-year doctoral student. At that time, he was really a handsome guy with invincible standards. I think he must often whisper to himself, "I used to be so handsome and handsome, and I was ruined by the doctor." 」

Speaking of learning societies, Dongda also encourages students to participate in academic exchanges. There are two opportunities to apply for academic exchange funds every year. Where you want to go, whether in Japan or abroad, you can apply after discussing with the professor, and the air tickets and accommodation can be reimbursed. The professor won't stop me because the school pays. When I was in China, all undergraduates were paid by teachers in the research room. I don't know how graduate students are. But on the whole, Dongda is quite generous in this respect.
