Most of the early plays of Diaojiao Opera were adapted from the traditional medium-long bibliography in Diaojiao Book, so many of them were linked to Taiwanese opera. For example, Hai Gong An, An, Hui Long Chuan, Da Song Ji, Velvet Ji, Double Gold Thread, Double Seal, Wedding Candle, Ermei, etc. Most scripts tell stories with lyrics, and there are not many words. Lyrics are usually seven words, cross sentences. Since the 1960s, the pendant drama has transplanted a number of excellent costume dramas from other dramas, and also rehearsed some newly edited historical story dramas, such as Examining the Imperial edict, Yang Jinhua's Seizing India, Mulan, Qin Xianglian, Butterfly Cup and Young Woman. Pendant drama can also better reflect modern life. In the late 1950s, Hangshi Group actively created and rehearsed dramas, and the dramas that left a deep impression were White-haired Girl, Revenge of Blood and Tears, Daughter of the Party, Seizing India, Accountant Girl, Dust Settled, Chaoyang Road and Red Flag Spectrum (Liang).

Modern repertoire

Hanging feet plays are rich in traditional plays, which can be roughly divided into "small plays" and "original plays" Most of them are adapted from "Duanzi Fire" or "Man Zi Fire" in stand-up comedy.

There are more than 40 repertoires such as Pan Jinlian Picking Wheat, Small Vegetable Garden, Wang Lin Divorce, Borrowing the Year, Third Sister's Birthday, Picking Cotton, Fighting Lights, Chopping Wood and Binding Dolls.

The original dramas include Zhang Tingxiu's Private Visit, Strange Cases, Long Qinghai's Visiting Family, Qu Gong, He Wenxiu, Xiang Lian Ba, Xue Gang's Anti-Tang Dynasty, Hongshishan, Qu Yuan, Lianyin, Qingfeng Pavilion, Five Girls in the Prosperous Tang Dynasty, Huilong Biography, etc. There are Bao Gong Rushing for the Examination, Luopa Case, Lv Mengzheng Rushing for Zhai, Contract Record, Bao Xiaoqiao Breaking the Marriage, Zhi Heng, Hatred of the Imperial Lady, Standing on the Flower Wall, Filial Son's Injustice, Big Little Eight Meanings, Red Lady and Big and Small Red Robes.

theatrical troupe

The original pendant drama was based on the traditional pendant bibliography, with slight changes. By July 1958, there were already twelve professional hanging decoration troupes. After the founding of New China, Daoqing Class was accepted by Xiaoxian People's Government at the end of 195 1, and Xiaoxian Quyi Experimental Troupe (also known as Quyi Opera), a professional performance group of pendant opera, was established.
