Several problems in Liang's essay on economic history
Fish Scale Atlas is a land register compiled by Ming Dynasty to collect taxes and protect feudal land ownership. The book arranges the fields and hills one by one, and draws the hills together, indicating the owner, the size of the land and the distance around. Because it looks like a fish scale, it is called "Atlas of Fish Scale". Also known as "fish scale book", "fish scale map" and "fish scale book". It was the basis of taxation and expropriation of hidden fields in Ming dynasty, which promoted the recovery and development of Ming economy and was also a great progress in the history of land management. However, after the mid-Ming Dynasty, the fish scale atlas gradually did not conform to the reality and became a mere formality. After the establishment of the Qing dynasty, it has existed in name only.
