Jilin University does not have a department of forensic medicine, but has a major in medical law.

The major of medical law was newly established in 2002 after running a school jointly by Jilin University, which embodies the combination of medicine and law. The Department of Medical Law of School of Public Health of Jilin University was established in June 2005.
