After graduating from primary school, because my family was poor, I worked my way through junior high school. 1952 was admitted to the horticulture major of Suzhou Agricultural Vocational School, which laid the foundation for his gardening career. At the graduation of Agricultural School 1952, the candidate recommended by Agricultural School was Russian major of Shanghai International Studies University. From 65438 to 0957, due to the sharp deterioration of Sino-Soviet relations, technical secondary school students were allowed to return to their original undergraduate studies, so they transferred to Beijing Forestry College to major in urban and residential greening. Because of excellent academic performance and strong hands-on ability, I have a certain foundation in gardening knowledge. Transferred to 1960, grade two, and served as assistant to academician Chen Junyu, head of the department. He made a master-apprentice plan to finish his studies while working. In addition to assisting Mr. Chen Junyu in scientific research and teaching, he also participated in the preparation and teaching of fruit tree specialty. One year later, he was transferred to the teaching and research section of garden tree technology to participate in the teaching of garden trees, nurseries and flowers, and served as the director of the teaching and research section of garden trees. During the Cultural Revolution, when the school recruited workers, peasants and soldiers in Yunnan, it was responsible for the whole department of teaching. 1979 After returning to Beijing, the school began to teach itself English and landscape dendrology, and went to the Royal Botanical Garden for further study on 1984. During my stay in Britain, I focused on the history of British gardens, the application of garden plants and the investigation of flower market. I visited more than 70 parks and botanical gardens, and gave lectures on gardens and teaching in China in 9 universities and 2 Royal Botanical Gardens. Had a useful exchange and collected a lot of information. After returning to China, he served as deputy director and director of the Department of Landscape Architecture. 1990 Established the Flower Research Institute, introduced the French greenhouse, and built the tissue culture building, and has served as the director since then.

The biggest gain during my study in Britain is to realize the importance of plant landscape in gardens. Garden plant planting design needs extensive knowledge of plant classification and ecology, and practical experience in the field, which is scientific, practical, artistic and literary. Secondly, seeing that gardens in western European countries are full of ornamental plants imported from China, and many of them are still in the wild state in China, they are greatly shocked and stimulated, and they are determined to offer courses such as "Plant Configuration and Landscaping" and "Wild Flowers" for graduate students after returning to China. In order to achieve this goal, through various channels and opportunities to Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hainan and other places to investigate the structure of wild flowers and typical plant communities, shoot teaching materials, and also investigate the plant landscape of cities across the country. Taking advantage of the opportunity of going abroad many times, the plant landscape of 13 countries was collected, so that these two courses have a large number of slide shows of plant landscape and wild flower resources at home and abroad for students to watch. The wild flower class is to investigate and verify the wild flower resources in Baihua Mountain, which is very popular with students. In order to combine teaching, Professor Han wrote and published Plant Landscaping, edited the first and second volumes of Woody Ornamental Plants in China, and edited the Atlas of Wild Flowers in China as the deputy editor. In addition, he also edited China Flower Classic, Garden Flowers and other books.

From 1980, Professor Su Xue began to study the shade tolerance of garden plants, which provided a scientific basis for the rational allocation of artificial plant communities in the future. In addition, the drought and cold resistance mechanism of evergreen broad-leaved plants introduced to Beijing and the introduction, cultivation and propagation of wild flowers were also studied. After applying for the "948" introduction project of State Forestry Administration, 80 kinds of colored plants and flowering plants in summer and autumn were introduced from Holland, and their propagation and cultivation were studied. Training nearly 60 masters, doctors and postdoctoral students. On the basis of scientific research summary and data investigation and analysis, more than 30 papers on garden history, garden plant germplasm resources, garden plant application, introduction and domestication of wild flowers were written. "Research on improving the planting structure and ecological benefits of urban isolated forests in Beijing" won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award1997; As the second moderator, the study on the ecological benefits of Beijing's garden green space won the third prize of 1999 National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Since the reform and opening up, Professor Su Xue has worked as a landscape consultant in Beijing, Shenzhen, Heze and other places, and applied his knowledge to production practice and landscape construction, opening up another field to display his talents besides teaching. His accomplishments in stone appreciation and stone culture have been recognized by peers at home and abroad, and he often participates in the evaluation of stone appreciation exhibitions at home and abroad. He won the prize in the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference and Exhibition on Stone Appreciation and Bonsai in Shanghai from the 3rd Asia-Pacific Stone Appreciation and Bonsai Council in Singapore 65438-0997, and served as the director of the jury and the judge of the bonsai garden at the' 99 World Expo. He got great pleasure from hard work and won honor for the school. (
