-Remember a small scientific experiment?
One day, grandpa asked me if the water could rise. I said, no, as the saying goes, "Man struggles upwards, but water flows downwards." Grandpa said, "Let's do a little experiment and see what the result is." Grandpa asked me to find a candle, a small basin and a glass. Grandpa lit a candle, fixed it in the middle of a small basin, and poured some water into it. Then he covered the burning candle with glass. After a while, the candle gradually went out. "Why did the candle go out by itself?" Grandpa was deliberately questioning me, and I replied, "The oxygen in the cup is used up." Grandpa nodded with satisfaction. At this moment, I suddenly found that the water in the glass suddenly rose. Surprisingly, the water will really rise! "Grandpa, I didn't see what I said just now. I have to do it myself. " Grandpa looked at my sly appearance and smiled and said, "Well, scientific things are not afraid of repeated inspection." I did it carefully according to the previous method and watched the change of water intently. Experiments prove that water can go up, which is true.
Why can water rise? Grandpa told me: "Because the burning of the candle consumes the oxygen in the cup, the volume of the gas in the cup becomes smaller, the air pressure decreases, and the external air pressure pushes the water into the cup, so there is a strange phenomenon of' water going up'. The external pressure is higher than the internal pressure.
Through this scientific experiment, I learned about stress and became interested in learning science. We should combine the knowledge of scientific experiment books and cultivate the good habit of using our hands and brains.
