Postgraduate in Science and Technology Archaeology, China University of Science and Technology.
I am not a student of HKUST, but I know that China University of Science and Technology is a very good school. I think his major in science and technology archaeology has its own advantages, and his interest is the best tutor. As long as he likes this aspect, he can apply for the exam, so that he won't feel bored at the postgraduate entrance examination stage. I saw the following information on its official website for your reference:

Archaeology of science and technology in China University of Science and Technology began in the early 1980s, and was founded by the older generation of scientists and educators such as Academician Qian. At present, the Department of Science and Technology Archaeology was jointly established by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the National Laboratory of Microscale Materials Science in 2008, and was appraised as the key laboratory of the Chinese University of Science and Technology by the academic committee of the school in the winter of 2009.
