Brief introduction to the content of ancient books interpretation
In July, 2004, Guangxi Normal University Press published A Preliminary Study on the Interpretation of Ancient Books-Selected Academic Papers of Huang Xianfan.

"The papers included in this book are only a small part of Huang Lao's life writings, but the time span is as long as half a century, covering pre-Qin history, medieval history, linguistics, social life history, Zhuang studies and social and historical investigation of ethnic minorities, which fully embodies Huang Lao's profound knowledge and national concept. Personally, I think that the practical significance of the publication of this book lies not only in its academic and historical value, but more importantly, it can inspire future generations to deeply study Huang Lao, further understand the history and national thought of Huang Lao, deepen their understanding of why Huang Lao still bears the burden of humiliation in adversity, and persist in Zhuang Xue's research as always. This stems from his conviction that all ethnic groups in China have their own glorious history and culture. Advocate the pluralistic concept of unity, equality and common development of all ethnic groups, so as to continuously inherit his selfless dedication to academic exploration and strive for the rejuvenation of national cultural undertakings for life ... "(Note 1)

"On the occasion of Professor Huang's centenary birthday, it is undoubtedly of great significance for young scholars to organize the papers and manuscripts published by Professor Huang into books. Many papers included in this book are still rare, which can be said to be the best academic works to understand the general situation of Professor Huang's academic research in his life. Among them, the Social History of Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties published in the 1930s before the Second World War, the Social History of Ancient China during the Great War, and the Agricultural Uprising and the Social Development of Zhuang Nationality published after the founding of the People's Republic of China, which had a great influence in the academic circles ... "As a scholar, I am just a disciple of Professor Huang Lao, and there are many peaches and plums all over the world. I dare not comment on Professor Huang Lao's extensive and profound academic system. I have only a little knowledge, just a little superficial understanding. I think: Professor Huang Lao's knowledge is like a towering tree, with national thoughts as its root, history as its stem, sociology, culturology, linguistics, anthropology and Zhuang studies as its branches, and articles and works as its fruit. Because the roots of the tree are deeply rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese culture, it can be deeply rooted and leafy, with thick branches and fruitful results, especially with strong knowledge and outstanding achievements. The papers included in "A Preliminary Study on the Interpretation of Ancient Books-Selected Academic Papers of Huang Xianfan" show us from the side that Professor Huang Lao's academic research seems to be complex and changeable, but in fact it is a systematic tree with distinct main veins and distinct branches.
