China's outstanding young zither player has studied zither performance with his father Zhou since childhood, and mastered the essence of zither performance. He studied under Mr Qiu Dacheng, an educator from China Conservatory of Music, and under Professor Li Wanfen and Professor Zhou Wang. Zhan Zhou has won awards in several major competitions, including the National Musical Instrument Competition (Nanjing); "Oriental Cup" National Guzheng Competition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture (Shanghai); "International National Musical Instrument Competition" Guzheng Performance Award (Beijing), etc.
