How to prepare papers for studying in Australia
Preparatory work/about to start work
plan
If you want to use this method, you are probably a person without a plan. Although it's the last day, there are still a few things to do before I officially start writing my thesis.
The most important thing is to replenish physical strength and eat a healthy breakfast, such as cereal. An empty stomach will slow down your thinking and seriously affect your efficiency.
Find a good place to work
Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. You should know yourself. Preferably in the library or at home. No matter where you choose, never choose a place you haven't been to. You need a comfortable place to concentrate.
Prepare materials, two pens, a bottle of water, any notes you use, and some snacks to replenish energy. When you are ready, you can concentrate on staring at the screen. (Chocolate is recommended for snacks)
Isolated from the outside world
Procrastination is a problem for every student, so turn off your cell phone (or at least turn off the internet or message notification) and don't brush social networking sites! ! !
One trick is to ask a friend to change the account password and give it to you 24 hours later ~
target setting
There are only 24 hours before the deadline, and time management is the most important!
Make a general plan before you start. If you break down a 3000-word paper into small goals, the process will be much simpler.
Suppose it starts at 9 am and your paper is due tomorrow morning. The timetable can be as follows:
9: 00–9: 30: Choose the topic of the paper and the topic of the debate.
9: 30–9: 45: Rest/recharge.
10: 00–12: 00: Write the outline/plan of the paper.
12: 00–13: 00: Write the introduction.
13: 00–14: 00: Take a break and have lunch.
14: 00–16: 00: Go back to your seat and collect information to support your opinion;
16: 00–20: 30: Write the text of the paper (eat in the middle)
20: 30–22: 30: Me and modification; Very important step, take your time!
22: 30–23: 00: Printed and ready to hand in;
23: 00-(morning): If you haven't finished yet, don't be nervous, it will be all right in a minute; Make sure you have enough energy to support the next day's class;
Select the theme and method.
Time: 9 am -65438+ 2 pm
If the topic of the paper has been set for you to choose, you can choose what you know best and feel best; Attention, be careful of those simple topics at first glance, you will find that such topics are actually difficult to write;
Next, choose a good method, how will you expand the problem? Remember, this is your paper. You can choose any direction, as long as it is related to the topic and can make a clear argument.
You can use Google to search for any topics on this topic, but the search time should not exceed 20 minutes, or you will spend the whole day on it. Also, don't brush Weibo!
Then, find 3-5 keywords, the one you want to focus on. Start with the most obvious and best topic;
Once you start this step, you will find that you already have an outline of your thesis. The next thing you have to do is how to fill it out.
Introduce carefully.
Time: 12- 1pm
Sometimes the introduction may be the most difficult part, because it is also the most important part of the paper;
Don't worry too much, just introduce your question and explain to readers how you will demonstrate it; If you have time to modify it after writing;
Do research
Time: 1- 4 pm
It's time for you to collect materials.
The time limit of this item is very important, because there will always be too many things to distract your attention when using browsers or other tools, so it must be strictly controlled!
It must be noted that when quoting other people's words/opinions, you must pay attention to indicating the source. If you are accidentally copied, the consequences will be more serious!
Start typing papers.
Time: 4 pm to 8: 30 pm
Start typing the paper! All you have to do is fill in the outline you listed before!
The most important thing is to write the text well, don't care too much about the style, you can read it after the meeting.
In the process of writing a paper, you may have more ideas. You can write down these ideas first, and then add them when you revise your paper.
Use the information you collected before to support your point of view, and probably add the outline to about 2500;
If the number of words is not enough, find a topic that you think is not substantial enough, and then polish it;
I modify
Time: 8: 30 pm-10: 30 pm
Make sure that all the topics you want to express have been made clear. To reach the number of words, you can add (or reduce, depending on your situation) some sentences;
Read the whole paper again to ensure that the full text is smooth and linked;
Check general grammar and spelling!
In fact, many students overestimate the importance of spelling and grammar. Different universities, different courses or different tutors have different requirements for this. Generally speaking, it accounts for 10-20%!
Finally, act quickly ~
Although I don't want you to use this method as a strategy, if you have reached an emergency, then act quickly!
