On March 3rd, many Chinese and foreign paleontologists jointly announced that the Sanbiluoga No.2 footprint in Zhaojue County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province is the largest dinosaur footprint found in China, with an area of over 9,000 square meters and at least 933 footprints.

Associate Professor Xing Lida of China Geo University, Peng of Zigong Dinosaur Museum, experts and Martin? Professor Lockley, German Footprint Scholar Hendrick? Klein and Wang, a doctoral student at China Geo University, published it together. The research paper was published in the international geological magazine Frontier of Earth Science.

The dinosaur footprint of Sanbiluoga in Zhaojue County is located in a local copper mine.

Obi Jiefang, former director of Zhaojue County Cultural Management Institute, is the discoverer and protector of these dinosaur footprints. According to him, in the 1990s, when local mines were blasted, a large number of dinosaur footprints were exposed. Over the years, due to the mining, erosion or collapse of ore, the footprint has been destroyed a lot.

Xing Lida, as a dinosaur footprint scholar, has been visiting Sanbiluoga for many years since 20 13, and cover journalists have followed him for many times.

Xing Lida said that the Sambiroga fossil site is about 1km long from north to south and about 0.5 km long from east to west. These dinosaur footprints are located on several steep rock faces in the clastic rocks of Feitianshan Formation in the Early Cretaceous.

According to the four important footprint points identified at present, they are numbered 1 No.2, No.2 North and No.3 respectively ... The first footprint point was discovered in the 1990s, and other footprint points were discovered by paleontologists from 20 12 to 20 19.

The second footprint experienced two exposures. On 20 13, paleontologists described the smaller footprint of this footprint, including the first conclusive dinosaur swimming footprint in China. Since then, continuous excavation has increased the exposure of the footprint point, making it the largest dinosaur footprint point in China.

It also includes the longest recorded footprints of sauropods and ornithopods in China, about 80 meters and 52 meters respectively. These footprints also show obvious changes in the direction of the manufacturer's movement.

Bioremediation technology can restore the situation to a certain extent, but it is still difficult to completely restore it.
