HowNet duplicate checking generally only pays attention to repeated text, and automatically ignores pictures, formulas edited by mathtype, word field codes, etc. Some schools stipulate that not only the repetition rate of the full text cannot exceed the limit, but also each chapter such as "cover", "abstract" and "introduction" will be regarded as a separate chapter, and each chapter will produce a test result indicating the repetition rate. Each chapter has a separate repetition rate, and the full text also has a total repetition rate.
Basic rules for duplicate checking of papers:
1. Dismantling several different papers and combining them, or submitting a paper for many times, will generally be detected as duplication and will be regarded as plagiarism. Of course, if only a few words and sentences are extracted, the impact will not be great.
2. Excerpting large paragraphs and verbatim, or just changing a few words or words and putting chapters from other articles into your own paper, are usually detected as plagiarism;
3. If you want to quote the material of other papers into your own paper, but the quotation format is not marked correctly, it may be detected as plagiarism.
