1 preface
With the continuous development of information technology, the application and network scale of campus network are also expanding. All colleges and universities have launched corresponding information management systems and network resource platforms to provide better services for teaching and office, such as computer room management system, educational administration system, network resource teaching platform, digital library and so on. These systems and platforms require the campus network to provide more data throughput and carry more multimedia data streams, but there is a big transmission and carrying bottleneck in the traditional network management mode at present. This paper will discuss the use of cloud computing to gather scattered resources in the network for unified scheduling and management, form a computing resource pool to provide users with on-demand services, solve the current problems of information management in colleges and universities, and improve the efficiency of information management.
2 Introduction to Cloud Computing Technology
2. 1 cloud computing concept
Cloud computing is essentially a computing pool and a commercial computing model based on the Internet. "Cloud" is not only a simple collection of computer resources, but also a collection of virtual computer resources that can be self-managed and maintained, usually some large server clusters, such as storage servers and bandwidth resources. At the same time, Cloud also provides a mechanism for managing computer resources, including resource provision, change request, remapping, work debt balance and resource monitoring. It distributes computing tasks on the resource pool formed by these clusters, so that various application systems can obtain computing power, storage space and information services according to their needs, so that computing services are no longer limited to personal desktops and campus computing centers, but can become services that rely on Internet processing, and fully enjoy computing resources such as computer hardware and software and service resources such as installation, configuration and maintenance of these computing resources.
2.2 characteristics of cloud computing
2.2. 1 Very large scale and super computing power
Google cloud computing has more than 1 10,000 servers, and IBM, Microsoft, Yahoo and other "clouds" all have hundreds of thousands of servers, which are huge in scale and provide users with unprecedented computing power through certain coordinated scheduling strategies in the cloud.
virtualization
Cloud service supports users to obtain corresponding application services by using various terminals at any place. Users don't need to know or worry about the specific location where the application runs. They only need a computer or a mobile phone to access the network resources we need through network services.
2.2.3 Safe and reliable
Cloud computing provides the most reliable and secure data storage center, and users don't have to worry about data loss and virus invasion. "Cloud" adopts measures such as fault tolerance of multiple copies of data and isomorphic interchange of computing nodes to ensure high reliability of services. Using cloud computing is more reliable than using local computers.
Economic practicability
Cloud computing is not specific to a specific application. All kinds of applications can be built under the support of "cloud", and the same "cloud" can also support and run different applications at the same time. Cloud computing can improve performance and reduce maintenance problems and software costs on the basis of reducing IT infrastructure investment and user computer costs.
2.2.5 Enjoy huge storage capacity and data * * *
In order to make full use of resources, cloud computing technology stores all resources on the cloud server, so the cloud server has huge storage space. Cloud computing makes it easy to share data and applications between different devices, avoiding that a single user has to bear higher costs or limited resources cannot be fully utilized.
3 Application of cloud computing technology in colleges and universities
3. 1 Computer management of multimedia classrooms and laboratories
At present, there are many mature virtual desktop systems based on cloud computing, and the principles and functions of each system are roughly the same. Integrate and manage multi-user, multi-desktop and multi-application environments, deliver required application software environments for different front-end users at any time, and provide centralized and unified remote deployment, software installation, upgrade, maintenance and remote management services. The following problems can be solved:
3. 1. 1 Centralized remote management to improve efficiency.
Centralized management of all computers, managers can remotely check the use of each computer, and can control and manage computers in batches or individually.
3. 1.2 unified deployment, safe and reliable.
When the multimedia computer needs to install or upgrade the system software in a large area, it only needs to run on one client, and then it needs to be updated synchronously through the virtual desktop server. After completion, other clients only need to restart, and do not need to install the system one by one. When the computer has a local or large-scale system paralysis, you can quickly recover the system from the server. It can improve the deployment efficiency, reduce the deployment cost, improve the rapidity of maintenance and improve the service guarantee ability.
3. 1.3 The hardware requirements are low, and the input cost is reduced.
It has good computer hardware independence, can be used regardless of the brand and configuration of the computer, and can prolong the service life of the computer. Some computers with poor hardware configuration do not need to be eliminated directly and can be reused.
3.2 The management of course selection, course arrangement and examination arrangement in the educational administration system
According to the virtualization and supercomputing characteristics of cloud computing, by installing virtual machine software such as Vmware and Hypervisor on the servers of educational administration management system, the virtualization platform of all servers is built, and multiple virtual servers are built. Build a virtual server cluster through the corresponding middleware software, and then deliver the related calculations to the cloud computing platform. It can solve the following problems in education management:
3.2. 1 Increase the load.
Multiple virtual server clusters expand the integration of foreground applications and background databases.
The number of published courses ensures the quality of system application, can solve the current load limitation of course selection, and supports more simultaneous online course selection.
3.2.2 Enhance the computing power
Improve the computing power of educational administration system through cloud computing platform. After counting the initial data of all parameters in the early stage, the educational staff can make large-scale distributed calculation in their spare time, and the cloud computing platform can quickly draw the original table of course arrangement and invigilation, saving a lot of working time and improving the efficiency of course arrangement.
3.3 Digital Library Management
Combined with the characteristics of cloud computing and the actual situation of digital library work, a large number of educational resources accumulated by various educational institutions are gathered to provide users with the convenience of obtaining resources on demand. Cloud computing technology will bring the following advantages to the work of the library: ① Using cloud computing to improve the quality of personalized service and realize the distance education service of the library, cloud computing has the lowest requirements for users' equipment, can reduce operating costs and is the most convenient to use; (2) Using cloud computing to realize the service of information resources, reduce repeated investment and enjoy information resources to a greater extent; ③ The use of cloud computing can provide high-performance retrieval service, realize the uninterrupted security service of the library, ensure the reliable operation of the server, and minimize the error probability of the server.
3.4 Enjoy campus resources * * *
Using the concept of grid in cloud computing, the existing teaching resources stored in the school are regarded as "public cloud" and the teaching resources stored by teachers and students themselves are regarded as "private cloud". We will adopt OGSA grid architecture, build a grid platform based on the original resource service of campus network, and realize the functions of resource management, information service and data management between public and private clouds. The main advantages are as follows: ① The application of cloud computing technology provides convenience for all teachers and students to integrate teaching resources; ② Make full use of the storage of personal computers, which virtually expands the storage space of the whole campus; (3) Teachers and students can enjoy their study diaries, recommended movies and music. Enrich your spare time.
4 conclusion
The emergence of cloud computing technology has brought opportunities to the information management of colleges and universities. Based on the existing network deployment and teaching resources, combined with the characteristics of cloud computing technology, a * * * sharing system based on cloud computing can provide greater data throughput and carry more multimedia data streams, thus fully improving the utilization rate of teaching resources and improving the efficiency of information management. Cloud computing is a good breakthrough for colleges and universities to save teaching costs and improve teaching quality, and it is an inevitable trend of information construction in colleges and universities.
