How to customize the bibliography format in endnotes
In this way, customize the reference directory format in Endnote:

1. Open Endnote and click Edit-Export Style-Open Style Manager.

2. In the pop-up window, select a similar reference format, and click "Style Information/Preview" to preview the selected reference format. Here, the "lipid" is randomly selected, which is just an example.

You can also preview the reference format in word and click Edit to edit the selected reference format.

3. In the new pop-up window, first save the reference format as, and then click File-Save As. In the small window that pops up, name (here: lipid copy of current viewpoint) and save it.

4. Click "Template" under "Bibliography", and different reference formats will appear on the right, such as books and periodical papers.

5. Take changing the references of journal articles as an example. At present, the format of "journal articles" is: author? | Title | Journal | Year; | Volume |: Page.

If the references of periodical papers need to display the "serial number" (that is, the issue number), you can add this information in the original format (the specific format is set according to your own requirements).

6. After the modification, use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+s to save, and then click the "X" in the red border in the upper right corner to close the window. Note: not the top "X"!

7. Back in word, under the "Endnote X7" tab, click the drop-down arrow-select the reference format of lipid copy of current opinion-and click "Update Citation and Bibliography" to update the reference format.

Compared with the previous reference formats, the updated references all add "serial number" information.

That's how to customize the reference directory format in Endnote.
