A 2000-word Dunhuang research paper
I have been dreaming of Dunhuang since I knew there was a Dunhuang in China. One day, I will stand there, as a short life that has hurried through the world, looking up at the eternal treasure with hunger and piety. This dream is ignorant, gloomy and distant.

However, with dreams, there is hope. Finally one day, I walked into Dunhuang and the Mogao Grottoes. The car left Dunhuang, crossed the desert, drove more than 20 kilometers to the southeast, and saw several green spots in the same desert. Behind the green is still yellow sand or sand dunes. I thought, how far do we have to go? The car entered the parking lot. The Mogao Grottoes are right there, behind those green places.

I saw several white towers. A few more steps will lead to a bridge. Under the bridge is a dry river. Head on, I saw a tall archway with a plaque of "Stone Chamber Treasure" on it. There is a small mound behind, and there is no stream of people passing by, so nothing unusual can be seen.

Is this Dunhuang in my dream? You can't see the gorgeous eaves of Yungang Grottoes, and the open-air Buddha statues more than ten meters high are magnificent. You can't see the towering peaks of Maijishan Grottoes, the honeycomb holes in the rocks, the rich, kind and bitter Buddha statues on the stone walls, but the vicissitudes are not immortal.
