Comparison between thermometer and thermometer
Experimental thermometers and thermometers are both liquid thermometers, so what are their similarities and differences? Let's make a comparison between an experimental thermometer (not a family thermometer) and a thermometer!
Similarities between experimental thermometer and clinical thermometer;
(1): The principle is the same:
Both of them are made by using the property of liquid expanding when heated and contracting when cooled. When the temperature rises, the liquid in the bubble expands and the liquid level rises. When the temperature drops, the liquid in the bubble contracts and the liquid level drops. )
(2) Use the temperature of Celsius.
The difference between experimental thermometer and clinical thermometer;
(1) The range is different: the general range of experimental thermometers is -20℃~ 1 10℃. The measuring range of thermometer is 35℃~42℃ (because the range of human body temperature is generally between 35℃~42℃).
(2) Different calibration values: the calibration value of the experimental thermometer is 1℃, while the calibration value of the thermometer is 0. 1℃.
(3) Different substances: The liquid in the experimental thermometer is generally kerosene (generally dyed red for easy observation). The liquid in a thermometer is usually mercury.
(4) Different structures
The basic structure of the experimental thermometer is that the upper part of the glass bulb is a uniform thin tube.
There is a thin neck above the glass bulb containing mercury in the thermometer, and the mercury expansion of the thermometer can rise to the glass tube above through the neck. When the thermometer leaves the human body, the mercury cools and contracts, and the mercury column cannot return to the glass bulb in time, so it is disconnected at the constriction, which still indicates the temperature of the human body. So the thermometer can be read away from the human body.
(5) Different methods:
The experimental thermometer can't read without the tested object, but there is no human body to read. The thermometer should be thrown down by hand several times before use, but other common thermometers should not be thrown down before use.
Through careful observation, I have a basic understanding of experimental thermometers and thermometers, hoping to get in touch with more common but fresh and interesting things in my life in the future physics class.
