1984 graduated from Hebei college of traditional Chinese medicine with a bachelor's degree in medicine; 1998 graduated from Chengdu university of traditional Chinese medicine with a master's degree and a doctor's degree in medicine. In 2000, he left Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to engage in postdoctoral research in traditional Chinese medicine.
