Abstract: Vocational education is an important part of China's higher education system, which bears the heavy responsibility of training and transporting skilled talents for the country. Music education is an important way to cultivate students' artistic accomplishment. The effective development of music education activities in higher vocational colleges can enhance students' aesthetic ability and improve their artistic appreciation ability. This paper mainly analyzes the problems existing in vocal music teaching of music education major in higher vocational colleges, and on this basis, puts forward corresponding improvement suggestions to promote the improvement of vocal music teaching efficiency.

With the deepening of the reform of higher education system, the higher vocational education system has also undergone a series of adjustments, and the thinking of teaching reform of music education specialty has become clearer and clearer, and good results have been achieved. With the continuous implementation of enrollment expansion policy in colleges and universities, the number of students in higher vocational colleges is increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for music education specialty. Vocal music course, as an important basic course for music education majors, has exposed some problems in the development of teaching activities, which requires detailed analysis and necessary reforms to improve the efficiency of vocal music teaching.

First, the problems in vocal music teaching of music education major in higher vocational colleges

(A) teachers are not strong

The comprehensive quality of teachers has an important influence on the teaching efficiency of teaching activities. At present, there are still many problems in the construction of music education teachers. Among the existing vocal music teachers, the problem of unreasonable age structure is particularly serious. Some teachers and professors are relatively old, and there are few young teachers in the team. The training of young teachers in higher vocational colleges is also very limited. Therefore, the lack of vitality and modern teaching methods in daily teaching activities has affected the effective development of vocal music teaching to some extent.

(B) backward teaching methods

Vocal music teaching involves many theories and skills. It is necessary to talk about theoretical knowledge and train students' singing skills. At present, the teaching methods of music major in higher vocational colleges are mainly teachers' explanation, demonstration, students' imitation, and then repeated practice to achieve the purpose of learning. Under this lagging teaching method, students' understanding of many singing skills is superficial, they can't really understand pronunciation skills, they don't pay enough attention to the aesthetic ability of singing, and they can't improve their artistic accomplishment through effective vocal music teaching.

(C) students' weak music foundation

The implementation of enrollment expansion policy has promoted the rapid growth of the number of students in higher vocational colleges. But the students' music foundation is uneven. Many students have not participated in systematic vocal learning before entering higher vocational colleges, and they also lack solid basic skills in vocal performance. Therefore, the learning effect of students is also very different.

(A) to strengthen the construction of vocal music teachers

The professional quality of vocal music teachers directly affects the teaching effect. In view of the present situation of music teachers in higher vocational colleges, we should actively strengthen the training of teachers. On the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the training of young and middle-aged backbone teachers, acquire more young teachers through external recruitment, and improve the structure of existing teachers, including age structure and academic qualifications structure, so as to promote the rapid growth of young and middle-aged teachers and ensure the continuous development of vocal music teaching activities. On the other hand, we should attach importance to teachers' professional training, strengthen the cultivation of teachers' theory and singing skills through regular learning and training activities, and improve teachers' comprehensive quality.

Through the innovation of teaching methods, the effectiveness of vocal music teaching can be improved. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce modern educational technology into classroom teaching, show vocal performance and singing skills from different angles by using multimedia, and also to transform theoretical knowledge into vivid pictures and sounds to help students understand and remember. At the same time, you can also use multimedia to appreciate music works, and cultivate students' ability to appreciate music by playing world-famous concerts and opera performances.

Students majoring in music education will take up teaching posts after graduation, so their innovative thinking and ability will also have a great impact on future teaching activities. Therefore, in the vocal music teaching of music education major, we should pay attention to the cultivation of students' innovative ability and guide students to actively participate in classroom activities. For example, choosing a class to perform a performance, from the choice of actors to the control of the whole performance, is completely given to students, and the teacher gives some guidance and guidance, encouraging students to boldly apply their ideas to the performance and giving them enough room for innovation.

At present, there are still some problems in vocal music teaching of music education major in higher vocational colleges, such as weak teachers, backward teaching methods and weak students' own music foundation.
