Lang Xianping's life and present.
Lang Xianping, an economist, was born in Taiwan Province Province, China, 1956. His father is a soldier.

Professor Lang Xianping received his Ph.D. in Finance from wharton school on 1986, and has taught in many famous business schools, including Wharton Business School, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, new york University and Chicago University. Dr Lang Xianping is currently Professor of Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lang is mainly engaged in the research of enterprise supervision, project financing, direct investment, enterprise restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and so on. 1990 The citation rate of financial papers ranks first in the world, and the author of the best-selling book "Corporate Governance". In the eyes of the public, Lang Xianping is a master scholar with clear views, world-class academic achievements and high reputation in China. 1986 obtained the master's degree and doctor's degree in finance from Wharton business school in the United States with a world record of two and a half years. Its academic achievements are not only widely quoted by academic circles and financial management textbooks, but also reported by many well-known media. His papers were published in the most famous American Journal of Financial Economics in 2000 and Journal of American Financial Association in 2002, and were widely quoted by professional scholars, researchers, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal and other well-known media, and were collected by the Library of Congress.

Professor Lang worked as a corporate governance consultant in the World Bank on 1998-200 1, and devoted himself to the research on corporate governance and the protection of minority shareholders' rights and interests. In the second half of 200 1 2000, Professor Lang vigorously promoted the measures of "defense adducing evidence" and "class action" in the domestic stock market to protect the legitimate rights and interests of minority shareholders.

Lang Xianping was the first person in China who publicly criticized the property right reform of state-owned enterprises, and devoted himself to the in-depth study of the loss of state-owned assets in the reform of state-owned enterprises. He advocated stopping the reform of property rights, but solving the problem of insufficient competitiveness of state-owned enterprises in China with the system of professional managers and the responsibility of establishing complete trust. As early as 2000, he pointed out Delong's problems and reminded investors of the possible risks of Delong. He also analyzed the huge impact of Gu M&A, Haier management buyout and the loss of state-owned assets of TCL Group on minority shareholders in China. Because it has always stood up for minority shareholders and devoted itself to safeguarding their rights and interests, it has been called "Lang Supervision" by domestic minority shareholders.

Because Lang Xianping has repeatedly publicly questioned the financial situation of listed companies and criticized some policies of the China government, he also attracted a lot of criticism and was once taken to court. Some economists in Chinese mainland expressed dissatisfaction with Lang Xianping's direct disclosure of the research report, arguing that Lang Xianping did not understand China's national conditions and called him a "media economist" and an "alien". Lang Xianping responded that as long as listed companies should accept public supervision, these conclusions were drawn through the study of domestic data, and there was no so-called problem of being divorced from national conditions. He also took milton friedman, a famous American economist, as an example to illustrate the significance of economists' active speech in the media.

In the second half of 200 1 2000, Professor Lang Xianping vigorously promoted the measures of "defense and proof" and "class action" in the domestic stock market to protect the legitimate rights and interests of minority shareholders. His views are highly valued by the media, academia and the government, so he is honored as "Lang Supervision" by the media. Many well-known media reported Lang Xianping's views on law, politics and economy. According to the statistics of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, Lang Xianping Viewpoint is ahead of the national financial figures in the number of web pages.

In June 2003, he put forward the idea of institutionalizing the original sin of private enterprises, and was entrusted by Yang Rong, who was far away from home, as an "independent third party" to actively explore the problem of institutionalizing the increasingly prominent contradiction between private enterprises and competent authorities.

In September, 2003, when the discussion on RMB exchange rate entered a white-hot stage, Lang Xianping put forward in a forum in Guangzhou that "RMB should be devalued by 2% to crack down on hot money entering the China market", which shocked the world again.

Since 2003, he has turned his main energy to the study of corporate strategy and made an analysis of Corporate Governance and Corporate Strategy for corporate executives. He is called "the godfather of private enterprises in China".

In 2004, Professor Lang proposed that "it will only cause tragedy if China enterprises want to be bigger and stronger!" Debate, and caused an uproar in the China business community. In August and September, 2004, Professor Lang Xianping used the most traditional financial analysis method to accuse the loss of state-owned assets in the reform of state-owned enterprises, questioned that some enterprises had embezzled state-owned assets, and pointed out that the property right reform of state-owned enterprises implemented in some places had entered a misunderstanding. It has caused great influence and is called "Lang whirlwind"

Lang Xianping is currently teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and he has also hosted a special program named Leisure Review of Caijing Lang on the First Financial Channel for a long time to explain his views (it has been ordered to stop broadcasting, because the official reason is that the Taiwanese version of Putonghua in Lang Xianping can't meet China's national standards).
