Henan Urban Construction College was formerly known as Pingdingshan Urban Construction Environmental Protection School founded by 1983 and Wuhan Urban Construction College Henan Branch founded by 1985. After historical periods such as Henan Urban Construction College and Pingdingshan Institute of Technology, it was renamed Henan Urban Construction College in 2008. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college.
