In fact, the origin of black and white impermanence is still controversial in academic circles. Earlier, it was suggested that black-and-white impermanence may originate from Buddhism, which is a burning skyscraper and a bull's head. But after some textual research, Mr. Lu Xun thinks that this statement is actually untenable:

Life is impermanent Whether the legendary black impermanence and white impermanence in impermanence are related to the flaming skyscrapers and bull heads in Buddhism is actually difficult to verify. Because, in the case of the confluence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, it is difficult to say clearly what they learn from each other. Moreover, the composition of ghosts is very complicated and has gone through a long process of evolution and development, and its initial image construction is hard to find again.
However, when it comes to the story of black and white impermanence, there is a saying among the people that is even more touching: it is said that white impermanence and black impermanence were not the same person at first, but two sworn brothers in a village. One of them is Xie Bi 'an, and the other is Wu Fan An. Xie Bi 'an and Wu Fan Salvation lived in the same village since childhood, and their temper and disposition were similar, and they were both loyal, so they finally became brothers.
However, the stubbornness of Xie Bi 'an and Wu Fan cost them their lives. According to folklore, once they went out together and walked to the bridge. It was going to rain. As a result, they agreed that Fan would wait at the bridge, and Xie Bi 'an would go back to get the umbrella. But it rained harder and harder, and Fan refused to leave, so he was drowned. When Xie Bi 'an came back, he found his brother dead and hanged himself on the bridge.
In this story, Fan and Xie Bi 'an are two very? Axis? People, but their commitment is admirable. When they arrived in the underworld, Yan was also moved, so they were asked to make a ghost trip to hook people's souls. This is the legend of black and white impermanence. In fact, everyone can feel that in reality, the story that Xie Bi 'an and Wu Fan can't save should be hard to happen.
As for why it is called black and white impermanence? Seven lords and eight lords? There are still some explanations. Because the black-and-white impermanence appeared late in the process of constructing the image of ghost difference, there were six judges, such as civil and military judges, bull's head and horse's face, and shackles, who called black-and-white impermanence seven lords and eight lords in turn.
