Ma Jie has participated in the 2nd and 3rd National Guqin Music Conference and the 1st and 2nd Chengdu International Guqin Exchange Conference, and created his own piano music, such as Ode to Zepan, Morning Flying, Watching the Night by the Spring River, etc. , and wrote papers such as "Guqin Inheritance and Innovation". Won the "Excellent Performance Award" in 1992 Hangzhou Guqin Invitational Tournament. He has held many solo concerts and appreciation concerts of guqin, and has been invited to hold concerts in various parts of the country and Singapore for many times. He has published solo albums of Guqin such as Folk Songs, Youlan, Guqin and Erhu.

Ma Jie's fingering is powerful and delicate. His playing style is eclectic, his personality is distinct, his statutes are rigorous and lively. Engaged in guqin teaching for many years, with rich experience and unique teaching methods. He has trained many excellent new Guqin players, and many of his students have won the National Guqin Competition for many times.

Besides guqin, Ma Jie dabbled in many other art categories, studied Chinese painting under Zhang, famous painters Xu Yicheng and Ye Zui, and taught flower-and-bird painting at Nanjing University for the Aged.
