A paper on the evolution of pronunciation
Many research papers show that Chinese originated from the understanding of pictophonetic characters, which shows that Chinese has the foundation of taking the road of pinyin from the beginning, but ancient ancestors did not have the ability to create abstract phonetic symbols. However, Chinese characters are out of touch with language and lose the function of pictographic understanding. With the simplification of Chinese characters, the pictographic function is gradually lost, and the development of Chinese characters has entered a dead end. Pinyinization of Chinese has restored the image, sound and understanding functions of Chinese. In the past, we failed to find an accurate method to write Chinese with phonetic symbols, which does not mean that Chinese is not suitable for pinyin characters. On the contrary, Chinese is more suitable for pinyin characters. Because Chinese is a monosyllabic morpheme language, its pronunciation is more closely related to morphemes than western phonetic symbols. From the perspective of pronunciation law, we can find the shadow of "onomatopoeia expressing meaning", "sound close to meaning" and "image sound knowing" when China ancestors developed language. Zhang Taiyan pointed out that Chinese originated from onomatopoeic words, such as: Why is "magpie" the antonym of onomatopoeic word "just feet"? The author can also give some examples, such as: looking down from a height with fear, "fright" comes from this; The pronunciation of "tiger" is to imitate the roar of the tiger. Because the tiger is scary, it is called "tiger". Chen Li, who first proposed that Chinese originated from "understanding with images", said in Reading a Secretary of Shu Dong Primary School: big characters are loud, small characters are small, long characters are long and short characters are short. If you say sour, you will be sour, and if you say bitter, you will be bitter. The sound of the card suddenly stops. The author can also give some examples, for example, Chinese uses pinching to express things related to lip movement, circle, hole space and passing through hole space. Example: Blowing, lip, wheezing, circle, bead, column, dwelling in a humble abode (the ancients lived in caves), cave, dwelling in a humble abode, rushing out, entering, wearing, window, breaking, stringing, injury, sore, boat, cabinet, storage and chuai. Another example is the use of tones to lengthen the pronunciation of verbs to represent an action process in Chinese. For example: buying, you need to be picky and use tone for a long time; Sell, don't emphasize the process, just take it away, use tone. Similar ones are: lifting, beating, squeezing, grabbing, guarding, grasping, speaking, thinking, walking, running, shaking, hugging, disparaging, dancing, washing, laughing and reasoning. These phonetic features of Chinese cannot be expressed by square Chinese characters, while pinyin Chinese characters are expressed by double initials. In Chinese, nouns are used to represent soft and amorphous things such as water, fire, earth, female, mother, reason, ceremony, history, music, pen (brush), body, ghost, etc. In the early stage of Chinese development, there were not many syllables and probably no tones. In addition to voice, more attention is paid to transmitting information with the mouth. So the important information of primitive life is expressed by [zh][ch][sh][r] or a pinch of stress, such as water, fire, eating, sleeping, defecating, living, living, leaving, entering and returning. He listed 83 syllables beginning with m in "A Study on the Origin of Chinese Characters from Phonetics", and their meanings were summarized by two principles. First, objectively, those subtle and obscure objects or material states are hard to see or invisible; Second, the subjective aspects of physical or psychological unclear. The author ……”n also give some examples here: the syllable at the beginning of the blasting sound B picks the common roots: "swing, defeat, worship, move, pull, mix, help, bind, hug, reply, grieve, rush, jump, stretch, force, avoid, belittle, suppress, bounce, stop, get sick, dial, hit, refute ..." The syllables at the beginning of X: "Heart, laughter, joy, drama, euphoria, fear, thinking, cherishing, saving, filial piety, learning, learning, evil, novelty, excitement, sex, training, awakening, jealousy, fierceness ..." are mostly related to psychological behavior. Similarly, verbs beginning with P are mostly related to big actions, while verbs beginning with Q are mostly related to intervention, control, manipulation and oppression. Another example is the monosyllabic "you", which means "having and attaching". More obvious: have friends, young. Obvious: oily liquid with strong adhesion; Glaze adhesion; Swimming-attached to the water; Seduce-attract its attachment; By-based on (attached to) a route; Worry-spiritual concern; Excellence-yearning for the goal ... After careful study, it is not difficult to find the law. These examples show that just as Chinese has the characteristics of classified expression in word formation, so does Chinese in pronunciation.
