Since1985, as one of the main researchers, I have participated in the multi-volume work of the National Social Science Fund's key project "A General History of China's Legal Thought" presided over by two senior scholars, Li Guangcan and Zhang Guohua, and served as the deputy editor of the second volume (The Spring and Autumn Period, the Warring States Period and the Qin Dynasty Volume). Since1993, a large-scale project "Research on the Customary Law of Southwest Minorities" has been planned and launched, which has been supported by the Ministry of Justice, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Sichuan Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission, and relevant universities in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. 1994, the project is implemented with the customary law of Qiang nationality as the test paper. The Ministry of Justice listed "the study of the customary law of the Qiang people" as a key project, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law also gave strong support in terms of funds. In the summer of the same year, an investigation team of "Qiang Customary Law" composed of teachers, graduate students and undergraduates went to Maoxian, Wenchuan, Lixian and Beichuan for a month, and collected nearly 10 million words. From1981,the history of China's legal thoughts was taught to undergraduates of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and the history of Chinese legal system and the history of China's legal thoughts were taught to self-taught candidates. Invited to Sichuan University, Shantou University and other universities to teach undergraduate and graduate students courses such as the history of Chinese legal system, the history of China's legal thoughts and the history of China's criminal law.
Since 1985, he has taught the history of legal thought in China, the history of political thought in China, the history of Chinese legal system and other related professional courses and elective courses for master students majoring in legal history and political science, and taught legal frontier research topics for doctoral students in law.

After being elected as the chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee of Chongqing Municipal People's Congress in 2003, he carefully studied the legislative theory and policy, insisted on improving the quality of legislation, and put forward the measures of "controlling quantity and improving quality".
