As a basic industry in China, water conservancy and hydropower engineering has developed rapidly in recent years. With the progress of science and technology, the development of water conservancy and hydropower engineering industry is gradually combined with new technologies. BIM technology belongs to building information model. Through the application of BIM technology, the development level of water conservancy and hydropower engineering industry has also been continuously improved. Through the brief introduction of BIM technology, this paper studies the characteristics of BIM technology, and probes into the application of BIM technology in the management of water conservancy and hydropower projects.

Technical optimization of hydropower enterprises can improve the construction quality and level. In the bidding process of hydropower enterprises, the management of new technology is also an important measure. The optimal management level of new technology also represents the development level of hydropower enterprises to some extent.
First of all, briefly introduce BIM technology.
BIM technology, the English full name of BuildingInformationModeling, is translated into building information model. Traditional 2D/3DCAD computer-aided design can only provide designers with architectural forms, but can't provide other important information of architecture. [1] In the new science and technology, 3D technology and CAD drawing technology have greatly improved our working mode and made our work more convenient. BIM technology is another new technology, which is mainly used in the construction industry. It can be used in the whole construction process, such as architectural design and planning, construction, cost management and building maintenance and demolition afterwards. In recent years, with the rapid development of economy, the water conservancy and hydropower industry has also developed rapidly. In hydropower engineering, the application of new technology can directly affect the quality of hydropower engineering. In the development of water conservancy industry, if we want to gain a firm foothold in the industry, we must strengthen the project management. With the development of society and the innovation of science and technology, the water conservancy industry should be combined with new technologies to make enterprises more competitive in the market.
Second, the characteristics of BIM technology
BIM technology has three main characteristics, namely, simulation, visibility and interconnection. The first is simulation. BIM technology is different from the traditional computer component model. In the previous hydraulic engineering models, most of them were plane plans or three-dimensional models. BIM technology belongs to 4D mode. It adds time dimension to the three-dimensional model and makes the model more valuable in water conservancy project management. Second, popularity. In the traditional model design of water conservancy projects, most of them are 2D plans, and the three-dimensional sense of water conservancy projects in the model is weak, which may lead to the lack of distinctive features and low popularity of designers' design drawings. The drawing design under BIM technology is three-dimensional graphics, and all the information of construction projects can be viewed in the drawings. (A) Combining BIM technology to build an engineering safety evaluation system

(C) Combining BIM technology to build a safety management model
In the process of water conservancy project construction, it is an important work to prevent potential safety hazards. In recent years, China has strictly managed the safety problems of water conservancy projects, but safety accidents still occur from time to time, indicating that there are certain problems in the construction of water conservancy projects. BIM technology can establish the model of water conservancy and hydropower projects, and BIM software can automatically establish the model as long as all the parameters in the project are input into the computer. In the BIM model, there are all the information and data of the project, and the shortcomings in the project are clear at a glance. Therefore, the model based on BIM technology can find hidden dangers, deal with them early and create a safe construction environment.

The water conservancy and hydropower engineering industry in China is also developing continuously. Water conservancy and hydropower engineering industry has become the basic industry in China, and gradually combined with new technologies. BIM technology belongs to the building information model and can be applied to every workflow of water conservancy and hydropower projects. Because BIM technology has the characteristics of simulation, visibility and connectivity, it can be said that the application of BIM technology runs through the whole process of building construction in the management of water conservancy and hydropower projects. Through the application of BIM technology, the construction management of water conservancy and hydropower projects has made great progress.
