Jiangxi Agricultural University is located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, with a total area of 6.5438+0.6 million mu and teaching land of 3,950 mu. The main campus is located in Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the East Campus (Nanchang Business School) is located in the center of Changbei School District in Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is a multi-disciplinary university with agriculture as its advantage, biotechnology as its feature and comprehensive development of science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management, literature, law and teaching. Post-Doctoral Research Center, postdoctoral research station and the right to confer doctoral degrees. It is the first teaching and research university in China with the right to award bachelor's degree and master's degree.

The school originated from Jiangxi Higher Agricultural School and was established in 1905. It experienced the period of National Chung Cheng University and Jiangxi University of Production and Labor. 1962 became the first postgraduate training unit in Jiangxi, and won the first nomination award for excellent doctoral dissertations in China, thus cultivating the first super rice variety in Jiangxi. 1978 became the first national key university in Jiangxi, established the first national key laboratory cultivation base in Jiangxi, and implemented the central and local * * * construction and provincial * * * management system. The school was successively subordinate to the Academic Promotion Department (Qing Dynasty), Central South Bureau, Central South Ministry of Education, the State Council and China Ministry of Agriculture, and produced Professor Huang Lusheng, the first locally trained academician of China Academy of Sciences in Jiangxi. In 20 12, the Ministry of Agriculture signed an agreement with the Jiangxi provincial government, and Jiangnong officially entered the ranks of universities jointly established by ministries and agencies.

Since 2007, the school has been awarded the "National Scholarship Project Grant" by non-21universities in Jiangxi Province for five consecutive years. It is one of the five universities in Jiangxi Province that undertake the task of training China government scholarship students, and it is listed as one of the four key universities in Jiangxi Province. In 20 12, it was selected into the basic capacity building project of the central and western universities of the Ministry of Education (also known as the central and western 100 universities). It is the third echelon university in China after the 985 Project and the 2 1 1 project, and will receive full support and priority support from the national financial and educational resources.
