Summary of tablet press
At present, the development direction of foreign tablet press technology is intelligence, flexibility, precision and compliance with GMP requirements. The high-tech content of products is constantly improving, and automation technology, numerical control technology, sensor technology and new material technology, which integrates machinery, gas, liquid, light and magnetism, are widely used in tablet press.

The design and manufacturing level of domestic tablet press has made great progress in recent years, but there is still a big gap compared with foreign tablet press. The development of domestic tablet press has a long way to go and needs our continuous efforts.

In recent years, with the deepening of GMP transformation in pharmaceutical factories, the production of tablet press has also developed to an unprecedented level. According to the latest statistics of China Pharmaceutical Industry Equipment Association, in 2003, the sales volume of rotary tablet press in China has reached 1 627, an increase of 9% compared with 2002. There are as many as 3 1 manufacturer and 76 high-speed tablet press 1. Although tablet press is the pharmaceutical equipment with the longest production history in China, it is also the earliest exported pharmaceutical equipment with the largest output. However, according to incomplete statistics, there are nearly 40 tablet press manufacturers in China, with an output of nearly 2,000 units/year, and there are as many as 60 product specifications, which can press round tablets, lettering tablets, anisotropic tablets, double-layer tablets, multi-layer tablets, annular tablets and film packages. It is an indisputable fact that the number, specifications and output of tablet press manufacturers rank first in the world. Tablet press is suitable for pharmaceutical, food, coal, chemical, metallurgical, building materials, refractory and other industries. Various types of dry and wet powdery granular materials can be pressed into round or special shapes.

(1) Punch and die Punch and die are the basic components of tablet press. As shown in figure 14-7(a), each pair of molds consists of three parts: an upper mold, a middle mold and a lower mold. The upper punch and the lower punch are similar in structure, and the punch diameters are equal. The punches of the upper punch and the lower punch are matched with the die hole of the middle die, and can freely slide up and down in the die hole, but there is no gap for powder leakage. The processing size of stamping die is a unified standard size and can be interchanged.
