The Travels of Marco Polo was written by the famous Venetian businessman and adventurer Kyle Polo on 1298. This book is the first in the history of the world to report to Europeans about China, which is vast and rich in resources. It records the situation of many countries in Central Asia, West Asia, Southeast Asia and other regions, and its key part is the narration of China. It describes China's endless wealth, huge commercial city, excellent transportation facilities and magnificent palace buildings with a large number of chapters and warm language. These narratives are of great historical value in the history of geography, Asian history, Sino-Western communication and Sino-Italian relations in the Middle Ages.

Kyle Poirot introduced:

Kyle Poirot (1254— 1324) was a great traveler in the Middle Ages. He came to China from Italy on 1275 (from Yuan Shizu to the 12th year of Yuan Dynasty) and traveled all over China. He left China at the beginning of 129 1 (the 28th year of Yuan Dynasty). His travel notes not only recorded the political events and customs of China in Yuan Dynasty in detail, but also had a great influence on the western world, so many versions, translations and research works on travel notes appeared in the west. In China, in 1874 (13th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty), the layman Tang Ying published the essay "The Story of Westerners Entering China in Yuan Dynasty" in the 2nd issue1,which was the first article to introduce Kyle Polo. 120 years later, there were 6 Chinese translations, 2 Mongolian translations and 100 books and papers on introduction and research in China. Although there is still a certain gap compared with the achievements of foreign research on this book, it also has our own characteristics, which is helpful to the research of this topic and makes certain contributions.
