Application difficulty
Glasgow College of Art (GSA) is one of the four independent art colleges in Scotland, and is considered as the most advanced and prestigious research and design institution in the world. Prince Charles of England has always been a patron of the college, and GSA has also signed exchange agreements with more than 80 institutions around the world.
I didn't expect QS to rank eighth this year, killing SAIC and Pratt ... ...
The reason is that GSA's studio can not be ignored in cultivating students' practical ability. In addition, under the premise of ensuring the good development of traditional dominant disciplines such as architecture and video communication, GSA has also set foot in new fields such as service design and VR, attracting more and more emerging art scholars to join, which is one of the reasons why GSA can rank among QS TOP 10.
At the same time, the college is committed to cultivating innovative and successful artistic talents, with graduates from all walks of life and the highest student satisfaction in Scotland. Of course, behind the glory is high competitiveness. Last year, the number of students who applied for art and design in the college ranked first in Scotland.
However, the requirements of GSA have not been reduced. Not only have high language scores, but also the requirements of language classes are extremely high. Only students whose grades are less than 0.5 points (one point is not lower than the requirements or only one point is lower than the requirements) and students whose total scores are not too high are admitted. This "abnormal" requirement has screened out many students whose language scores are not up to standard.
Here are only five institutions that are particularly difficult to apply for according to the artistic professional ability and language comprehensive requirements. Some comprehensive universities, such as the Art Department of Oxford University, are also demanding, and some colleges expect to reduce the number of language courses next year. On the whole, it is more difficult to apply for studying abroad in British arts in 2022, not only because of the increasing number of applicants, but also because of the application requirements changed by various colleges according to the increase in the number of applicants.
Students need to be reminded that British colleges and universities adopt a first-come-first-served mechanism for both professional applications and languages, so that they can have more time to study the information of colleges and universities by stepping up work collection, while it takes a lot of time to choose schools and prepare materials. You also need to make time to prepare for the English exam, and it is best to meet the language requirements. If not, you can sign up for a language class as soon as possible.
