Keywords: international status, development of international financial crisis
In the past 30 years, especially since the 20th century, China's international status has been significantly improved. In the development and change of the world situation, China has become a decisive and even indispensable factor. The world today is undergoing extensive and profound changes, and so is contemporary China. Objectively speaking, China is now the fastest growing and most active force in the world. General Secretary Hu Jintao pointed out in the report of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that "the relationship between contemporary China and the world has undergone historic changes, and the future and destiny of China are more and more closely linked with the future and destiny of the world". After China successfully hosted the Olympic Games, especially since the international financial crisis, the close contact and in-depth interaction between China and the world became more obvious.
First, the foundation of improving international status is the enhancement of comprehensive national strength.
1. China has found a correct development path. In the process of reform and opening up, China organically combined the laws of modernization with its national conditions and embarked on the road of Socialism with Chinese characteristics. 265438+In the first eight years of the 20th century, China's economy ranked almost one year higher in the world. In 2008, its GDP reached 4.4 trillion US dollars, making it the third largest economy in the world, and it may become the second largest economy in the world this year. The growth of comprehensive national strength has laid the foundation for the promotion of China's international status.
China is more closely connected with the world than ever before. China has participated extensively in global and regional cooperation and has become an important driving force for world economic growth. In 2007, China's contribution to world economic growth surpassed that of the United States for the first time, ranking first in the world. In 2008, China contributed nearly 22% to the world economic growth. China has established numerous contacts with the international community, actively participated in international and regional affairs, fulfilled its due international obligations, played a responsible and constructive role in international affairs such as counter-terrorism, non-proliferation and combating piracy, and has become an important force for safeguarding world peace and promoting common development.
Second, China has become an important force in coping with the financial crisis.
1. China's measures to deal with the financial crisis have had a positive impact not only on its own economy, but also on the regional economy and even the world economy. The once-in-a-century international financial crisis triggered a global economic recession. In order to cope with the impact of the crisis and maintain steady and rapid economic development, China adjusted its macroeconomic policies in a timely manner, resolutely implemented a proactive fiscal policy and a moderately loose monetary policy, and formed a package plan to further expand domestic demand and promote economic growth. These measures have achieved initial results and played an important role in alleviating prominent contradictions in economic operation, enhancing confidence and stabilizing expectations. The positive factors in economic operation are increasing, and the national economy has stabilized and rebounded.
2. The international community spoke highly of China's positive attitude and decisive actions in dealing with the financial crisis, and believed that a series of measures taken by China showed the sense of responsibility of the largest developing country in the world. Just like 10 years ago, during the Asian financial crisis, China was regarded as an important stabilizing force. It is recognized by the international community that China has played an important and constructive role in the international community's efforts to deal with the financial crisis. Dalya, EU Commissioner for Financial Planning and Budget Affairs? Grybauskaite's point of view is quite representative: "Although how to solve specific problems requires consultation from all parties, it is certain that this round of financial crisis cannot be completely solved without China's participation." Generally speaking, the international community is optimistic about the development prospects of China, and believes that China's international status and influence are expected to be further enhanced after the crisis. Some experts even believe that "the financial crisis in the United States will become a landmark event for China to rise from a regional power to a global power".
Third, China is deeply involved in the adjustment of the international system and is moving from the periphery of the world stage to the center, which will affect the direction of the world pattern.
The world today is undergoing great changes and adjustments. The international financial crisis has promoted the reform of the international financial system, and the international pattern has undergone profound evolution. Affected by the financial crisis, western countries are deeply in recession, and emerging countries such as China have begun to make their own voices. From the rapid rise of BRIC countries to G20, where developing countries occupy a place, there is an obvious trend: as the largest economy in BRIC countries, China is moving from a position that is not very central or even marginal on the world stage to a central position. As the world's largest foreign exchange reserve country, the second largest import and export country and the third largest economy, China has also made the greatest contribution to the world economic growth, and its role and influence in the reform of the international financial system and the change of the international order have attracted much attention. Western countries such as the United States and Europe have taken the initiative to deepen cooperation with China. Emerging powers want to strengthen coordination with China, while developing countries want China to safeguard its own interests. Countries' dependence on China has increased significantly.
China actively put forward the policy proposition of necessary reform of the international financial system, strengthened consultation and coordination with all parties at all levels, and promoted the second financial summit of G20 leaders to achieve positive results. China will continue to play an active and constructive role for the international community, jointly safeguard the stability of the international financial market and promote the resumption of world economic growth. After the financial crisis, China will become a more noticeable force on the international stage.
Fourth, the soft power such as "China Model" has been greatly improved, and the development model has been diversified.
The financial crisis highlighted Socialism with Chinese characteristics's vitality and influence, and enhanced China's right to speak in international affairs. Socialism with Chinese characteristics not only broke through the framework of traditional planned economy, but also combined the basic system of socialism with the operation mode of market economy, instead of blindly copying the model of western capitalism. With the strong support of the state-owned economy, the government effectively regulates and supervises the market, which makes China have a strong ability to avoid and cope with the crisis.
There is public opinion that after the failure of Soviet model, Latin American model and East Asian model in 1990s, China model provided a truly feasible alternative for developing countries to realize modernization under the background of globalization. Former US Assistant Secretary of Defense Joseph? Nye and other scholars believe that "China Model" represents the future trend of the world development model. If the "Rhine Model" in Europe and the "Anglo-Saxon Model" in the United States dominated in19th century and 20th century respectively, then the "China Model" will dominate in 2 1 century. More and more developing countries want to learn from China's development experience, and the influence of "China Model" is increasingly apparent in the global scope.
Great changes have taken place in China since the reform and opening up 30 years ago. At every important moment, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have adjusted their policies in time to adapt to the changes in the situation and maintain the momentum of sustainable development. At the same time, we also have some problems to face, such as how to face our past history of nearly 100 years, how to face the international order that we think is unfair now, how to face the discriminatory treatment we often encounter in the world, and how to treat the nationalist thoughts and emotions among our young students. These are all new problems we have encountered in the process of development and need to be further solved through development.
