In recent years, Xuefu Street Primary School, with the guiding ideology of "building a school by routine, strengthening the school by scientific research", has intensified its education and scientific research, and undertaken three Chongzhou municipal education and scientific research projects in Chinese, mathematics and nature. The research project of Chinese education in chongzhou city during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period undertaken by the school "gives full play to the role of self-reading textbooks, strengthens extracurricular reading, and cultivates students' reading ability since enlightenment". Since its establishment, under the guidance of the municipal teaching and research section and the leadership of the school teaching department, the research group has revised the plan many times and worked hard. After more than two years of hard work, the teachers and students of the research group have benefited a lot and achieved remarkable results in stages. In May 2000, Wang Qian, the main research teacher of this topic, gave a research class entitled "I love nature" for the research activities of urban minority languages. From June 5438 to February 2002, Liu Yonglong, the project leader, participated in the seminar of "Comprehensive Chinese Practice Activities", a municipal educational research project in Chengdu, on behalf of the research group, and gave an exchange of experience entitled "Extracurricular Reading-Regular Chinese Practice Activities". With the deepening of the research, students' extracurricular reading has greatly increased, and their reading and writing levels have improved simultaneously. In May, 2002, the outstanding works of more than 30 students were selected into the Collection of Campus Works of Youth Tribes published by Sichuan People's Publishing House.

This album is an action record of the research group's understanding and practice of advanced educational concepts. It is divided into four parts: first, the research plan and the report materials of phased results; The second is the design and evaluation of some research courses; Third, the research papers with high quality of teachers in the division; Four, some students' exploratory extracurricular reading essays and excellent works of junior and senior high school students (excluding the works selected in the "Youth Tribe Campus Highlights"). Reading is the basis of writing. Second, the establishment of the subject.

(1) According to the principle of Marxist philosophy from quantitative change to qualitative change, the formation of students' reading interest, the mastery of reading methods and the cultivation of reading ability must be based on a certain amount of reading. This point has long been confirmed and affirmed by traditional Chinese teaching experience and modern Chinese teaching theory. According to the statistics of modern Chinese teaching experts, the formation of a person's reading ability must be based on the reading capacity of 2 million words. The arrangement of self-reading textbooks matching Chinese textbooks is based on this theory.

(B) The newly revised Nine-year Compulsory Education "Chinese Teaching Syllabus for Primary Schools" points out: "The total amount of extracurricular reading in five-year system is not less than 6,543.8+0.5 million words, and that in six-year system is not less than 6,543.8+0.5 million words." (The penultimate and third lines on page 2 of the revised outline. Without this amount of reading as a guarantee, the formation of students' reading interest, the mastery of reading methods and the cultivation of reading ability since self-enlightenment will all fail.

(3) Modern classroom teaching theory holds that all our teaching activities should embody the principle of students' subjectivity and focus on students' long-term development. As Ye Lao pointed out many years ago: "Teaching is to avoid teaching". Therefore, "giving full play to the role of self-reading textbooks and strengthening extracurricular reading" is the means and foundation of the experiment, and "cultivating students' reading ability since since the enlightenment" is the overall goal of the experiment. "Cultivating reading interest and mastering reading methods" is the bridge and link to achieve the goal, and it is also the concrete embodiment and symbol of the principle of students' subjectivity.

(4) What's the use of self-study textbooks at present? Due to the lack of understanding and the interference of exam-oriented teaching concept, students do not strengthen guidance and inspection in reading (some schools do not even order self-reading textbooks for students), which seriously affects the cultivation of students' reading interest, the mastery of reading methods and the formation of independent learning ability.

According to the above four arguments and analysis, in addition, our school has always attached great importance to the use of self-reading textbooks. In this regard, graduate teachers have had experimental projects to cultivate students' reading ability since enlightenment.

Third, the experimental objectives

(1) Stimulate students' interest in reading self-reading textbooks by the following methods, and refine them during the experiment.

I. Establishment of the subject

"Give full play to the role of self-reading teaching materials, strengthen extracurricular reading, and cultivate students' self-reading ability in since the enlightenment" is the educational and scientific research topic of chongzhou city in the Tenth Five-Year Plan. How did this topic come into being? At the beginning of the topic two years ago, Chinese teachers in our school generally felt that students' reading ability was generally not high, their spoken and written languages were poor, and their Chinese level was generally low. Students do a lot of problems and their Chinese scores are not low, but why is the Chinese level not high? We investigated the extracurricular reading of students in grades 4 to 6. The survey shows that 80% of students don't like reading extracurricular books, and in the column of "reasons for not liking extracurricular reading", 90% of students choose "no interest and no time". Only 20% students often read after class, and many of them also read "cartoon stories" and "brain teasers". In the column of "whether to sketch or extract", the statistical results only account for 5% of the total number of students.
