[Abstract] This paper expounds the basic connotation of pdca circulation method, and combining with the specific practice of college student management, puts forward effective management strategies on how to apply pdca circulation method to continuously promote the continuous improvement of college student management, comprehensively improve the quality and effect of student management, and realize the virtuous circle of college student management.

Practice has proved that the good operation of student management in colleges and universities is an important symbol of the management level of a school, which determines the comprehensive level of the school and the comprehensive quality of students to a great extent, and undoubtedly plays a positive role in promoting the all-round development of students, developing their potential and intelligence, and promoting the reform and development of colleges and universities. However, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the popularization of higher education, the socialization of logistics support in colleges and universities, and the wide application of Internet and campus network, higher requirements have been put forward for the management of college students. Many weak links in college students' ideological and political education are gradually emerging, which directly restricts and affects the role of college students' management. Therefore, how to further strengthen and improve the management of students, and how to study and think about the methods and ideas of ideological and political education and management of college students under the new situation has become the primary problem of doing well the management of college students' education at present. In modern enterprise management, there is a work implementation method called pdca cycle method. This paper will use this method to study the new mode of college student management.
I. pdca cycle
Pdca cycle was put forward by Dr. edwards Deming of Yale University who was born in the United States and became famous in Japan in 1950s. It is also called Deming cycle or pdsa. In essence, it refers to the cyclical process of four stages of management activities, namely, planning, implementation, inspection and action, in order to improve management quality and efficiency. The four stages of its circulation process must be interlocking and cannot be interrupted; And each cycle is closely linked and repeated, thus forming the characteristics of big ring and small ring, continuous cycle, continuous rise and continuous improvement. As a quality management tool, pdca cycle has played an important role in production management. Many enterprises have achieved the goal of improving product quality and corporate image by applying pdca cycle in total quality management. Similarly, the application of pdca cycle will also play an active and effective role in continuously improving and improving the quality and effect of college student management.
Second, the application of pdca cycle in the management of college students
The management of students is very complicated, and just dealing with daily affairs makes people physically and mentally exhausted. Many student management workers worry about everything, but they are unable to do it. They always feel that everything is difficult to complete satisfactorily. At this point, we need to sort out all the links and analyze the reasons. Relatively speaking, pdca cycle method commonly used in enterprise quality management is an effective method, which can be fully applied to student management to help us do things better, although we can't be perfect. This paper will explain the pdca circulation process of student management with the example of our college.
(1) planning stage
The student management work plan is a series of management activities aimed at educating and managing students. To formulate a scientific and reasonable student management plan, it is necessary to make overall plans and give prominence to key points. On the one hand, it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive and concrete implementation plan according to the work objectives; on the other hand, it is necessary to find out the existing problems through the investigation and analysis of the current situation of students' work, analyze the causes of the problems, and formulate solutions and measures to solve the problems according to the main reasons. Based on the annual plan of student work in our college, this paper discusses how to make the plan at this stage.
Our school is a young vocational college, which has accumulated some experience in recent years, but a lot of work is still in the process of exploration. In the work plan for the 2008-2009 school year, the work objectives of the school year were defined, and the main things that need to be done every month throughout the school year were made into a calendar, including freshmen enrollment, mental health education, student loans, work-study programs, enrollment and employment, campus cultural activities, and student work team building. By summing up the past experience and lessons, the new school year focuses on solving some problems: in the process of welcoming new students, it is difficult for sponsors, advertising companies and our school to coordinate; At the beginning of the implementation of the quality development plan, due to the lack of certification software, the certification procedures were cumbersome and lacked supervision; In the work of awarding loans, it is found that students generally lack gratitude consciousness; Mental health education has not received enough attention and lacks effective methods; There is no effective way to solve the problem of changing majors every year in enrollment; Struggling for the employment rate every year, failing to achieve full participation and "unifying the next game of chess"; The job responsibilities of work-study program are unfair, students have opinions, and work is slack; Although campus cultural activities are very active, they need to be further improved; In the student work team, the professional training of counselors is not enough, the staff is not enough, and the work of class teachers is often not in place. In order to solve these problems, we have fully investigated and summarized each work plan, and constantly revised the plan to ensure its feasibility.
(2) Implementation stage
The implementation stage is very important for the whole student management. First of all, we should strictly follow the proposed scheme, and at the same time, we should adjust and solve problems in time when we find them in the process. In the process of implementation, it is likely that things will not go according to the original plan. We should make adjustments while doing it, and get the most reasonable scheme. There are many specific things to be implemented in the implementation stage, and pdca cycle method can also be followed to do these things, which is also a small cycle in the big cycle. The following will introduce how the quality development work of our hospital is carried out in the big cycle and small cycle, and so on. In the implementation stage, each job can use this own small cycle method.
In order to find an effective carrier and mechanism to serve the growth needs of college students and help them improve their comprehensive quality, our college has comprehensively implemented the "College Students' Quality Development Plan". Simply put, the "College Students' Quality Development Plan" is to certify and grade students' participation in various campus cultural activities, form quality development achievements, and become a compulsory "course" for students to actively cultivate their comprehensive quality. At the beginning of the implementation of the plan, the Youth League Committee of the College organized the secretary of the Youth League Committee of each department to investigate and study in a university, because the university was rated as a model for implementing the "Quality Development Plan for College Students". After coming back, the Youth League Committee of our college formulated the Implementation Outline of College Students' Quality Development Plan, which specified the implementation steps, implementation links, scoring methods and standards in detail. Established a three-level Soto certification institution for colleges, departments and classes. In order to strengthen the effectiveness of the certification scoring link, the Youth League Committee of the College purchased Sutuo scoring software from a university in Beijing for entering scores. At the same time, publicize all staff, print brochures and announce the implementation of this plan. Assign special personnel to various departments to provide training for student cadres and certification team members. Once it is ready, everything will be fully rolled out.
(3) Inspection stage
The inspection stage of student management is to compare the results of the implementation of the plan with the plan to check whether the plan has been completed and whether the expected goal has been achieved. Usually, there is a certain deviation between the results of plan implementation and the plan. Managers must analyze the causes of deviation, find out the primary and secondary factors that cause deviation, and put forward corresponding effective measures to improve the quality of student management.
After the quality development work was carried out in 2008, although we implemented it step by step as planned, we still encountered various problems. The main questions are:
1. At the initial stage of development, the purchased Suduo software could not complete the scoring function at all. In order to find suitable software, we consulted several colleges and universities, but we couldn't find it. Finally, we will jointly develop with relevant professionals. But without funds, there are no professionals with comprehensive skills in the school. The authentication link is stuck, so we can only use the form to check manually first, which wastes a lot of paper, is inefficient and ineffective in supervision.
2. Insufficient publicity and systematic training. Many students don't understand and are not interested. They felt it necessary to do so. Very dissatisfied with the imperfect system and don't want to cooperate.
3. The certification group reported that many students provided various certificates in order to give Suto extra points, so it was impossible to distinguish the authenticity. At the same time, there are so many certificates that I don't know which ones should be added and which ones should not be added.
Many students want to get extra points no matter what they do, even if some of them are part-time. For example, in the school sports meeting, student union cadres ask for extra points for their work. Some students spontaneously organized a cheerleading team and asked for extra points after shouting for a day.
5. The supervision is not strong enough, and there are many random points, which leads to the lack of credibility of this work.
6. We add the quality development score and grade score as the score of students' comprehensive evaluation, and the proportion of quality development score and grade score is 40% and 60% respectively. Now it is found that this ratio makes some students with poor grades participate in many activities, and as a result, the comprehensive evaluation ranking directly rises to the first place in the class; Those who get good grades and take less part in activities suddenly fall to the bottom of the list in the comprehensive evaluation. This fully shows that the proportion of these two scores needs to be adjusted in order to evaluate students fairly and objectively.
Solution: (1) developed the software suitable for Suto plan in our hospital; (2) Strengthen publicity and training, especially for certification groups at all levels; (3) Student cadres get other special points for participating in organizing activities, but do not participate in the certification score of this activity; (4) Hold consultation meetings from time to time to demonstrate whether some technical links of Sutuo software are in line with the actual operation, so as to achieve practical results; (5) In the comprehensive evaluation of students' achievements, the proportion of quality development achievements and grades is adjusted to 30% and 70%.
(4) Processing stage
In the stage of student management, on the one hand, we should popularize the successful experience in the process as a reference for the next round; On the other hand, we should also find out the problems existing in this round of circulation, analyze the causes of the problems, and avoid similar problems from happening again. And transfer the problem to the next pdca cycle to solve.
The quality development of our hospital needs to be strengthened in the following aspects: first, some functions of Sutuo software need to be further improved; Second, students should cultivate awareness and positive attitude when participating in the expansion plan. These aspects will be improved in the new round of pdca cycle.
Third, the characteristics and advantages of implementing pdca cycle mode in college student management
The application of pdca cycle in college student management can ensure the continuous improvement of student management quality. The specific functions are as follows: 1. pdca cycle is continuously improved in the order of planning, implementation, inspection and treatment, thus continuously improving the quality of student management. Second, in the whole cycle process, interlocking, big ring sets small ring, constantly advancing. Every time the quality of student management is improved and innovated, it is guaranteed by several small pdca cycles. Third, the management of students is constantly circulating and the quality is rising. Every pdca cycle finds and solves problems on the basis of the previous cycle. Compared with the last cycle, every pdca cycle has risen to a new height. Start a new pdca cycle at a new level and achieve new goals.
