Professor Swarow has devoted himself to the study of the history of China for a long time. Professor Swarow has presided over several studies on China society. One is to study the evolution of moral concepts in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the other is to analyze the literary and non-literary materials (history and philosophy) in China culture.

Publishing books
For this reason, he also wrote a book "Research on Emotion and Modal Words in Ming and Qing Literature", which made such intensive and in-depth research on the "emotion" words in Ming and Qing literature. Professor Swarow was also the first western scholar. In this book, the author adopts two research methods, one is a comparative study between China and the West, and the other is an interdisciplinary study.
