Curriculum construction is an important part of discipline construction, and our college has always attached great importance to it. Over the years, according to the laws and characteristics of second language teaching, our college has set up a series of Chinese skills courses including listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as Chinese language and culture knowledge courses, which have well met the needs of all kinds of Chinese learners. The Undergraduate Curriculum Outline being implemented in our college reflects the situation of curriculum construction in our college. Some courses have become the characteristic courses of our college, such as "Grammatical Error Analysis" (formerly called "Analysis of Ill Sentences") and "One-minute Novel Selection" were offered as early as the mid-early 1980s. The course "Radio News Listening" won the 1994 excellent teaching (third class) award of Hanban, and the courses "Computer Chinese Characters for Human Brain" and "Chinese" were offered in our college.
In terms of teaching management, our college has formulated a series of practical management measures according to the actual situation of teaching foreign students for many years. It mainly includes Regulations on the Management of Learning Discipline and Attendance for Undergraduates, Regulations on the Management of Learning Discipline and Attendance for Advanced Students, Administrative Measures on the Evaluation of Undergraduate Academic Achievements, Administrative Measures on Re-examination (Re-examination), Administrative Measures on Language Practice and Professional Practice, Administrative Measures on Academic Papers and Graduation Theses, Guiding Principles for Academic Papers and Graduation Theses, Administrative Provisions on School Status (Degree) and so on. At the same time, the teaching management of international students in our college has been brought into the unified management of the Academic Affairs Office and the Graduate School, and all the teaching management regulations of our college have been strictly implemented. Determine the topic of the thesis and the instructor one year in advance, and give guidance according to the requirements of the Guiding Principles for Academic Papers and Graduation Papers. The teacher is serious and responsible, and the students feel that they have gained a lot. At the same time, according to the relevant regulations of the school on undergraduate evaluation and student status, the system of elimination and demotion will be implemented for students who do not meet the requirements. Since 1996, 12 undergraduates have been excluded, which effectively maintains the teaching order and ensures the teaching quality.
In the aspect of teaching quality management, "China Renmin University Undergraduate Classroom Teaching Quality Evaluation Method" is completely adopted, and the teachers and courses are numbered and assessed by the Academic Affairs Office, and the scores are processed by the microcomputer. More than 70 points are qualified, and less than 70 points are unqualified. Those who fail are employed in higher vocational colleges, and those who fail for two consecutive semesters are dismissed. At the same time, the college has set up a teaching quality management committee, which is composed of the dean in charge of teaching and the directors of various teaching and research sections, and organizes teaching seminars centering on the teaching quality of the whole hospital. The implementation of the system of teachers' attending classes, which is included in the assessment of college teachers, ensures the gradual improvement of teaching quality. In the evaluation of teaching quality in recent semesters, all the teachers in our college scored above 70, and nearly 50% of them scored above 90. In 2002, Wang Shuhong, a young teacher of China Renmin University, was awarded the first prize by more than a dozen experts. In the same year, Duke Xueye, a young teacher in our college, was awarded the "National Excellent Teacher Award for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language" by Hanban.
