The first peak of animation in China (it can't be called animation, because the word "animation" is the special name of Japanese animation and comic industry) was in the 1940s, that is, around19.43 million brothers' Princess of the Iron Fan. At that time, Japanese animation had not yet taken shape. Princess Iron Fan spread to Japan, and Osamu Tezuka was deeply influenced by it. Coupled with the influence of Disney at that time, the "God of Comics" really felt that Japan should have its own animation.
In fact, the early Japanese animation was very bad. Have you seen The Legend of the White Snake? It's from China. It's rather rough.
Japan's economy was severely hit by the Second World War. For a time, Osamu Tezuka provoked the backbone of the whole animation industry. He defined and classified cartoons and explored the creation of animated works. During the development of Japanese animation, due to various reasons, China stopped the original pace of progress.
More than 60 years later, Japanese people who are good at exploring and summarizing in various fields have developed animation into an important pillar of Japanese economy and culture, but China can never find back the animation techniques used by Wan Brothers.
Are these a little sad?
But China's animation is far from simple. She has a very obvious dual personality.
I am an ACG fan and I know a lot about Riemann. I used to be very critical and desperate about China's animation, but now it has changed a little.
In China's political system and environment, the animation industry (now China is also trying to crack down on the Japanese) is living in the cracks.
You can look at some early works (I know the works that the post-80 s generation saw when they were children), Hulu Brothers, Two Generations of Love, Rubik's Cube Building, Thief, Haha, Flowers in the Mirror and so on are all excellent works.
The following is a passage from my thesis:
"When it comes to China's case-by-case animation, I have too many excellent works in my memory. 1979 ~ 1989 Two Generations of Love filmed by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, 1986- 1987 Hulu Brothers, 1989 Thief, 1992 Weird Old Man. Since Wan Brothers debuted in the 1940s, China animation was at the forefront of the world, with a large number of experimental short films and various techniques. Stop-motion animation mostly uses paper-cutting, origami, puppets and other comprehensive materials, which are lively and the audience is concentrated on children. "
And China's unique ink style animation. You can say that you are not interested, but you can't deny that she is unique. In fact, China animation is more like European animation, full of experimental flavor.
However, in today's industrialization, China's animation is weak and the positioning problem is very serious. Don't talk about auditing (. . . ), China animators lack a calm and down-to-earth attitude, and the accumulation without quantity is really without quality (I know it's vulgar to say so).
In fact, as for the comparison, it is indeed to start with the years, and then describe the development in stages and discuss it with examples; Then, from the aspect of techniques, it summarizes the different characteristics of Chinese and Japanese animation works; In addition, it can be said that it is market operation, that is, the status and role of animation industry in the economic and cultural industries of the two countries; Finally, the development prospects.
Time is limited, so I'll talk about it first. I hope it will help you. Come on!
